The hit that knocked Clinton Portis out of last week’s game against the Falcons will also keep him out this week against the Broncos.
Portis suffered a concussion, and his absence against his former team is not a surprise. Ladell Betts, his presumed replacement, was limited in practice Thursday because of an ankle injury. Redskins coach Jim Zorn does expect Betts to play.
Betts will be running behind yet another variation of Washington’s struggling offensive line. Levi Jones, signed two weeks ago, is taking over at left tackle. Stephon Heyer is expected to move to the right side, and the team is also making a change at right guard.
Zorn says the team hasn’t lost heart.
“We’re not out of it yet. We’ve dug a deep hole. If there’s a glimmer of
hope, we’re going to continue to work and that’s what we have before us
at the present time.”

He got a concussion on purpose because he hasn’t run worth a damn all year. This is his ticket to sit and make money and not get hammered anymore.
