Tomlinson, Gates return to practice

LaDainian Tomlinson may not be in San Diego for long, but he should be on the field this Sunday.

Tomlinson returned to practice Thursday after missing work Wednesday with a hip injury.  Antonio Gates, who often takes Wednesdays off, was also back on the field.

The Chargers have quickly made up ground in the AFC West, but they still have a small margin for error.  With Denver likely to get back in the win column against Washington, the Chargers need a win against Philadelphia or risk being two games back of Denver when San Diego visits Invesco Field in Week Eleven.

While Norv Turner says the Chargers need more carries, that doesn’t make a lot of sense against the Eagles. Philadelphia is down two cornerbacks and remain a team easier to attack through the air than on the ground.

It’s Florio’s way to undermine far superior athletes / people in order to make himself feel better and to make his life seem more important than it does. When was the last time that you saw a complementary article from this guy?

Norv says they need more carries every week. And every week he asks Rivers to throw 35 times. They have no run blocking and basically just use the run as a decoy or to keep the other team honest so to speak.
No blocking plus limited carries means LT is done as a Charger. His numbers will ultimately be his downfall. Unfortunately they prolly won’t have him or Sproles next year so the next guy can get tackled behind the line every play and Norv will still be talking about getting better in the run game.
How long can Rivers carry the team? How long till AJ realizes he’s made bad personnel decision on the OL?
Who will be the feature back in SD next year?
    Stay tuned…

21 is washed up , hate to say it, but that oline isnt that bad, they just need a back like he used 2 b. sproles is nothing more that a 3rd down guy. who if used right like the rams used faulk could produce decent numbers.

LT is going to go somewhere next year and pick up 1,000 yards in a platoon situation. Everyone thinks he is done, but no one but Chargers fans realize that the O-Line is pathetic and run blocking and LT/Sproles or whoever is back there gets hit behind the line of scrimmage almost every time…

I just find it interesting that the new writers for this site such as Rosenthal all sound like Florio disciples. I mean seriously, is it on the PFT job application that you need to act like a smart ass, or sling feces against the wall till you find one that sticks?
