With “ongoing ringing” in Clinton Portis’ head, questions are starting to surface in Washington about when the running back will be able to return to the lineup. Like, whether he’ll be able to return at all.
Jason Reid of the Washington Post writes that “at the very least” Portis may need need to sit out a few more games. Zorn said the team will exercise caution and having Portis return this year may not be in the player’s best interest.
Zorn didn’t want to speculate what the ringing in Portis’ head meant. “I just
know that we just have to be really careful with trying to get a guy
back,” Zorn said. “These are pretty difficult things to deal with. We’re going to
try to do the right thing.”
His backup Ladell Betts is also hurt and was limited in practice Friday because of a foot injury. Betts is expected to play, but may split up the workload with Rock Cartwright and Quinton Ganther.
How come no penalty was called nor any fines layed down or the two Falcons who hit Portis helmet to helmet on the play that knocked him out? I thought the league was concerned about concussions.
then again Portis could be using it as an excuse to ditch this sorry season.
I think the only ringing that Portis hears is the ringing of the cash register as he sits on the sidelines and gets paid.
But I don’t blame him for sitting out a bit. With that sieve of an offensive line, it’s just a matter of time before someone in that backfield gets murdered or crippled.
Smart. Ongoing ringing would be a significant concern.
Does anyone else think Rock Cartwright is in the wrong profession with a name like that. I am thinking he needs to be in more of an Adult Industry. I think the name is perfect.
CP may have played his last down in Washington.

That’s quite a judgement. You sound like an expert. Karma can be a bitch.
Yeah, I just got a call. I yell ‘Cartwright! Cartwright!’, just like that. Nobody came up, I hang up.
What does Riggins have to say about this?
I would be more concerned about the voices in his head. At least the ringing drowns them out temporarily.
Candy S. Goode and Rock Cartwright star in “Darkness in Light 23″. Definitely could work for that particular sub-genre.
Portis quit on this team when he threw his helmet on the bench during the Eagles game. He’ll be great again when he plays for a team that is playoff caliber. Skins need to drop him like the Bucs dropped Keyshawn. A malcontent/cancer that sucks the life out of a team on life support.
calling larry johnson
not a really hard dission there.
He’s been out for awhile already…way out.
