Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams was held out of practice today and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Falcons.
Williams, who is nursing a knee injury, was limited in practice Thursday but watched from the sidelines today.
Steve Reed of CarolinaGrowl.com reports that Panthers coach John Fox wouldn’t say anything about the status of Williams’ injury other than, “There are always concerns going into every Sunday, we’ll leave it at that.”
Williams, who injured the knee last week against the Saints, has 149 carries for 768 yards and seven touchdowns this season. If he sits out, Jonathan Stewart (who is also listed as questionable but was a full participant in Friday’s practice) would start.
The Panthers are crap without DeAngelo. That spread is gonna grow…
Stewart is looking slow this year with his injuries, far from being as explosive as Williams.
Look for Jake to win his interception lead back from Cutler this weekend.
