Andy Reid: Westbrook is playing

Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid says running back Brian Westbrook will play Sunday at San Diego.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Reid was asked which NFL injury term best described Westbrook: probable, questionable, doubtful or out. Reid chose none of the above.

Playing,” Reid said.

Westbrook has been sidelined for the last two games after suffering a concussion against the Washington Redskins, but he’s listed as probable and Reid says he looks good.

“He looked like he had a little bounce in his step here the last couple of days,” Reid said.

Westbrook also indicated that he’s ready to go, telling reporters, “I’m doing good.”

His words after the concussion make me wonder how effective he might be, if at all. Not a good thing when a RB mentions the word “scared” when he talks about playing football.
His injury was just the result of a normal play, no one stood him up or hit him helmet to helmet. He fell into the knee of a player running at him, has to be in the back of his mind when he is playing. If he still remembers anything.

Most coaches in the league answer the question Reid was asked by deferring to the medical personnel. I guess “a little bounce in his step” is a he needs in Philly. How tone deaf is Andy Reid. Or is he just plain deaf? It makes you wonder given his personal life.

Two piss poor comments from the above. Where do i start:
‘normal play’? So a knee to the head happens all the time and Westy should have approx. 537 concussions by now you dope.
I still don’t see the relevance in Andy Reid’s personal life in all of this. Britt Reid just carded me at a local bar the other night. Is this why the Eagles lost to the Cowboys? I don’t hear any of this when they beat the Giants, maybe only because it was overshadowed by the fact that the Phils were in the world series.
Seriously get a life folks, the Eagles beat the Superchargers tomorrow, they have no pass rush. Then everyone will be back on their nuts again, I never stopped holding on tho.

Anyone who attempts to make a connection between Andy Reid’s coaching and his personal life is a dope. In other news, Brian Westbrook had better retire after this year or he will be in a wheelchair by the time he is 40.

Eagles are beating no one as long as Andy get’s distracted by a ham sandwich and kicks a FG when he needs 7.

Wow, you’re a genius..It’s really quite simple..He’s not probable, questionable doubtful or out….He’s playing. It’s a one word answer, but somehow in that overanalytical mind of your’s you somehow came up with this truly brilliant deduction….

    @Poopdollar;
BRITT REID WORKS IN A BAR? You are pulling my leg, right? Do you get what I mean by tonedeaf?

Gotta love Eagles posts. 2 posts by fans, 6 posts by butthurt haters who probably had to watch the Eagles destroy their team at one point and have decided to take out their anger in the most trollish way possible.

    Chargers run defense is 26th.
    Their pass defense is 5th.
So if Andy stays true to form, Westbrook won’t see much action, they’ll be passing the ball, a lot…You know, like when they played Oakland.

The Eagles have never won a Superbowl, while ever other team in the NFC East has won multiple Superbowls.

He might be in a wheelchair at 40 anyway, the way these guys are hitting each other. Holy crap. Seems like it gets scarier every year. These guys deserve every penny of the $$$ they’re paid.

No dopier than the dopes that attempt to make a connection between Tony Romo’s play and his personal life. Main difference being that none of Romo’s relatives tried to stick something up their butt and sneak it into jail.

    Good Sh*t, no pun intended.
I think Westy is at the end. His mellon is just the latest. His ankles are shot to hell.

If Westbrook get his “Bell Rung” again anytime this year he should retire from football.
