When rookie wideout Brandon Tate emerged last month from the Physically Unable to Perform list, there was hope that he'd have an impact later in the year for the Patriots.
He has played in only one game (against the Bucs at London), with no receptions and one rushing attempt for 11 yards.
And now Tate, a third-round pick out of North Carolina, will make no further appearances. The Pats have placed him on injured reserve.
In his place, the Patriots have elevated Isaiah Stanback from the practice squad. Stanback, a college quarterback who was converted to wideout after being drafted in the fourth round by the Cowboys in 2007, has been moved back to quarterback by the Patriots.
Pats put Brandon Tate on injured reserve

Brandon Tate, we hardly knew ye ......
Next.
He played 2 games - he injured his knee during a kickoff return in the Miami game.
SHIT!!!!
I saw him grab his knee after a return durring the Miami Game.....I was hoping it was nothing serious but it sounds likr it was....I hope it's nothing too serious....
Looks like Aiken & Edelman are the Pats best hope going forward.....
I was actually hoping they would bring Nunn up from the practice squad, he looked AWESOME in pre season......
rich, ur gonna know brandon tate next year. yall should have put him on the ir to begin with. People forget how good this dude was college before he was hurt..
I'm puzzled why they didn't promote Nunn as well, he seemed to have a good shot at getting on the roster.
Not a shocker. Many people before the season started rumored that he could be IR'd before even taking the field so the Patriots could give him time to recover from the ACL tear completely and give him time to develop in practice and such.
I hope he isn't hurt long term, but I don't see this as a huge deal if he isn't.
Stanback huh?
Edelman looks like he's back and Aiken's been playing well, so he's not needed at WR. Think maybe we're about to roll out some wildcat with Stanback?
This pisses me off. I never understood why they rushed him back and risked serious injury. [Or why his agent allowed it to happen. Now his client may never play again. What a moron.] I hope that this is directly related to Morris being downgraded to Out, and that the front office has learned a lesson moving forward about rushing guys back from knee injuries. They got $@#@$% lucky with Mayo, but this is the NFL, and bad things are going to happen when you push guys back on the field with unstable knees that are not fully recovered from major injuries. Shame on you, BB, for risking this guy's ability to walk normally for the rest of his life, much less play football at a pro level.
