In our PFT Picks for Week Ten, yours truly had a gut feeling that the Panthers would find a way to take down the Falcons.
And so they have.
After an early field goal from the Falcons, the Panthers scored 14 straight points. At the half, the home team led 21-10.
But the Falcons worked their way back into it, scoring a field goal and a touchdown in the second half. A two-point attempt that would have tied the game failed, however, and the Panthers held the lead.
Then, Panthers cornerback Richard Marshall picked off Matt Ryan on a deep ball at the Carolina 21, returning it 28 yards, with 3:45 to play in the game. Three plays later, running back Jonathan Stewart went 45 yards for the clinching touchdown.
We'll have more on this one in the Week Ten Morning Aftermath.
Carolina takes care of Falcons

carolinas offense is looking a lot like minnesotas offense of last year...great running game, solid wrs, shit qb. maybe they can get favre to retire and unretire again...
nah, not favre.
The Falcons could've taken the lead with a 34 yard Jason Elam FG late in the 4th but the new long snapper was having problems and wide left it goes. Matt Ryan should've passed the ball to an open Jason Snelling for a short gain but overthrew into traffic for Michael Jenkins and INT. Michael Turner was out the second half with an ankle thing.
No worries.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm................ WR Michael Jenkins is questionable along with other starter Roddy White so Marty Booker could end up starting and Brian Finneran was the No. 3 and he'll be out too no diggity so we'll see some play maybe by return man Eric Weems and the aforementioned Troy Bergeron so there'll be lots of two tight end sets with Tony Gonzalez and Justin Peelle who are fine pass catchers and Keith Zinger is a mauling blocker with hands of Williamson but we'll focus on the running game with a rejuvenated Michael Turner with FB Ovie Mughelli leading the way while Jason Snelling plows his way back from injury with his last game a nice one versus the Cowboys of 7 carries for 68 yards.
Against the Panthers tomorrow in Carolina: no problems.
Hmm, interesting.
The Panthers are for real! And so is Mr. Florio!
@ screaming sheep
That obviously isn't an original comment from me, it's the job of some phony punk masquerading as SaintsBucsPanthersSUKK for the purposes of manufacturing malevolent and maleficent intent against me. Close examination of the text reveals rambling and unfocused phrases and a run-on sentence from hell that is not indicative of my style of writing damn it so I'm afraid your "Hmm, interesting" statement is rendered moot. Bytch.
Look at what happens when Jake plays smart. We can beat anybody as long as Jake doesnt have his head up his ass.
YAAAY. Florio gets lucky on a pick.
I love how he doesn't point out the biggest play of this whole thing: Elam missing a gimme field goal. Why is that? BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WATCH THE GAMES. He simply reads the headlines and dumps JustForMen into his scalp.
Florio just loves pointing out when he is right on the football side of things...cause it only happens about 4 times a year.
Hey, Redskins are 3-6 now. They are starting to gear up for that superbowl run.
I have to admit it. I don't like the Panthers and still think the Saints let the wrong QB leave several years ago, but I hate the Falcons and was happy to see them lose this game.
Before the season started it looked like the Falcons had a tougher schedule than the Saints because of home/away games and some of the match-ups. I have to say that I like our position with a four game lead and seven games left to play. I just want to stay one game ahead of the Vikings and I don't know if we can do it.
