Our NBC colleague Andrea Kremer, who works the sidelines during the Sunday Night Football broadcasts, has put together an intriguing report in advance of the 2009 edition of the Game of the Century.
She has spoken with all 20 living Hall of Fame quarterbacks (we hope she got to Terry Bradshaw in time) regarding their preferences among the two future Hall of Famers who'll play tonight: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
Andrea will be sharing the results shortly before kickoff and an article will be posted on Sunday Night Football Extra at NBCSports.com.
The 20 living Hall of Fame quarterbacks are: Troy Aikman, George Blanda, Terry Bradshaw, Len Dawson, John Elway, Dan Fouts, Bob Griese, Sonny Jurgensen, Jim Kelly, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Warren Moon, Joe Namath, Clarence (Ace) Parker, Bart Starr, Roger Staubach, Fran Tarkenton, Y.A. Tittle, Charley Trippi, and Steve Young.
Many of the names will be instantly familiar to most football fans. One that won't ring many bells deserves special mention.
Ace Parker, who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers (1937-41) and Boston Yanks (1945) of the NFL and the New York Yankees (1946) of the All-American Football Conference, is 97 years old. He also played Major League Baseball with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1937 and 1938, and he left football in 1942 to serve in World War II, returning to the game in 1945.
Parker, the NFL's MVP in 1940, joined the Hall of Fame in 1972.
Hall of Fame quarterbacks make their picks between Brady and Manning

I'll take the Pats defense and Billy B. to outsmart their counterparts, maybe a touch of the Pats running game.
Look for a draw between Peyton and Brady.
"...Our NBC colleague..."
Florio, your a sellout...
My guess is 14-6 vote for Manning.
I'm sure my comment will be blocked, now that your with NBC but I must point out that Manning would never have gotten a ring had it not been for some blatant rigging in favor of the Colts during the AFC championship game. 145 yards in penalty calls against the Pats, many of which were phantom calls that just didn't show up on replay. He chokes during most big games.
I am not a hall of fame QB but I did stay at a Holiday Inn. My pick is Manning only because I have Reggie Wayne on my fantasy team. Manning to Wayne at least twice tonight. Brady to Moss will happen once or twice as well. Colts defense I think is a little better though. patriots just try to trade parts away and place unproven players in. Tonight they find out that don't work. I also think Freeney hits Brady hard and knocks him out of the game. Then Gisele leaves him for me.
Our NBC colleague Andrea Kremer, who works the sidelines during the Sunday Night Football broadcasts, has put together an intriguing report in advance of the 2009 edition of the Game of the Century...
I'm nor sure what is intriguing about yet another Manning or Brady debate. The only thing I see intriguing is that most football types would probably agree that Manning and Brady are both better NFL QBs than were most of the 20 QBs that Kremer spoke with.
Cue the Manning and Brady haters...
I had never heard of Charkey Trippi - before my time apparently, and I'm in my 50s - so I Googled him. I think PFT readers should hear about what I found:
"Trippi played as a left halfback for four seasons before switching to quarterback for two seasons. Charley then moved back to offensive halfback for one season before changing to defensive in 1954 and 1955. He also was the Cardinals' punter and he excelled on the punt and kickoff return teams."
QB, running back, defense, kick returner ..... amazing.
I'd take Brady any day of the week.
I would love to hear what Ace Parker thinks about everything, from football to the country to life.
WHY does it have to be between Manning & Brady??? What IF one of these guys prefers Brees or Rothlisberger or Rivers? Both are having great careers, but to listen to the national media, you would think it begins and ends with these two. At the end of the day, lets see if either of these two are holding up the Lombardi trophy in Miami, because all these passing records are nice, but it's all about winning Super Bowls. I like Andrea Kramer, but something tells me that she WOULD NOT be doing this story, if this game was carried by CBS. RIGHT FLORIO?
Same with Charlie Trippi, born 1922. I'd love to hear what he says about everything.
"Then Gisele leaves him for me."
That was gonna happen eventually, you know that.
By the way, those "parts" have proven to be some pretty talented players, and it's worked pretty good for BB over the years, what with the three SuperBowls and all.
It's a shame, but Brady will get into the HOF because his coach told him through his helmet which defense the opponent was going to use, and which receiver would be open. Cheaters DO prosper, when it comes to Goodell's NFL.
Manning is the best that has ever played any better than any of those with a vote.
If he had Belichick and that D, he'd have more rings than the Steelers by now(who would still be stuck on 4).
Absolutely sick of this topic.........fact : You can not go wrong with either Manning or Brady................fact : No one will ever have to choose between the two........fact : While both are great...I still think Montana was better (as of today..thsi may change in the future depending on how either's careers go from here).
I am a Patriots fan...but anyone who criticizes Manning is a moron. I'd take either Brady or Manning any day.......period
SFrancis1680: "At the end of the day, lets see if either of these two are holding up the Lombardi trophy in Miami, because all these passing records are nice, but it's all about winning Super Bowls."
Ummm..... you realize that BOTH those guys have already DONE that, right? Brady three times, FYI.
I have always liked Brees and he's having a great year, but he hasn't held that trophy up yet. Keep it real.
I'm Pats fan and a Brady supporter but I think Manning has also proven himself to also be a cut above the other QBs of this era.
I cheer against the Colts as if they were a division rival but I only have respectful thinks to say about Peyton Manning
Cause everyone has heard of Charlie Trippi...
Please, you Manning lovers need to get a grip...........he is a choker......bottom line
Manning: 7-8 in the playoffs
Brady: 14-3 in the playoffs
....the answer is crystal clear.
doriangray 3 words,,,,Brady tuck rule.
Thats the pot calling the kettle black.

Florio, do "sideline reporters" like Andrea look at you as the the bottom-of-the-NBC-foodchain web weenie? Think she'll know your name at the NBC holiday party next month? (if they invite you guys from the "critical reporting" side of the house). I mean, it took her years to perfect her craft. She may see you as a threat.
I heard she thought Curran was a waiter when he showed up at the festivities last year and kept handing him her empty plates and drink glasses. When TC got up in her face she went all Buzz Bissinger on him.
RICH2256...I know both of their SB records, but THANKS for reminding me,,, JUST TO KEEP IT REAL, lets see what they do come playoff time, this Feb. in Miami,
Manning has more responsibilities. He is sort of the quasi head coach of the team. He calls the plays. If the Colts don't have Manning, the team will disintegrate into oblivion. Pats have proven that they can win with Matt Cassell. Matt F'ing Cassell. You know, the same stiff with the negative 40 quarterback rating playing for the Chiefs now. People talk about Brady's 50 touchdown year in 07, well guess what Manning still had the better Rating in 2004 and would have easily topped 50 had they not shut Manning down the last few games of the year. Manning has Brady beat in every single category by far except for rings. But let me ask you this Pats fans, do you honestly think Manning wouldn't have 3-4 rings himself if the roles were reversed? Furthermore, do you think Brady can run Peytons offense? I doubt it because his natural ability isn't even as good as Peyton's. You weigh each and every one of those things, I do not see how any sane, sober person can actually believe in their heart that Brady is the better Quarterback. It is freaking incomprehensible to me.
ironically, eli manning's playoff run was ALOT better stat-wise than his brother's
"It's a shame, but Brady will get into the HOF because his coach told him through his helmet which defense the opponent was going to use, and which receiver would be open."
Its a shame that mentally deficient chipmunks like you don't realize that defensive signals are recorded by the end zone cams as well and by people on the sidelines without cams. Every team has records of the other team's defensive signals and any coach with smarts changes them every quarter or at halftime so that they can't be stolen.
Veteran players learn to recognize offensive and defensive alignments by studying massive amounts of game film and game experience. That you belittle and discount all the hard work and experience shows what a tiny person you are and a tiny mind you have. Also shows you know virtually nothing about football.
We'll never hear the end of it though, spygate. You never hear anyone say how the Bronco's were freakin cheaters. When they were faking cap numbers to keep players they shouldn't have been able to. Like thats not an advantage. Cheating around the salary cap and signing the best talent in the league while everyone else plays by the rules is far worse than steeling signals...which EVERY other team in the league was doing also. Brady hands down. More rings, play off wins, touch down record, and Manning has what like 3 or 4 more years than Brady in the league. Not to mention the lack luster receiving core before 07' that Brady had to work with. First year they give him moss the guy breaks the touch down record. Ill stick with super bowl winning, record breaking, super model impregnating Tom Brady.
@me so horny says: "People talk about Brady's 50 touchdown year in 07, well guess what Manning still had the better Rating in 2004 and would have easily topped 50 had they not shut Manning down the last few games of the year."

You're full of shit (and drunk). Brady is the highest-rated cold-weather quarterback in history of the NFL and plays in shit weather most every year from November on. Manning gets his cushy 72 deg fast-track dome 8x regular season games a year and Brady is still only a few points behind him (and Manning has played 3 more years) in overall career srating stat boy. Manning has had the luxury of throwing to Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark year after year. Brady just got his all-pros the last few years. Brady's done more with less on offense than Manning ever has. Plus Brady has 3 rings.
They need to have a special wing in the HOF called "QB's who've played in domes their whole careers" Manning can have the 1st spot.
"Domes are for pussies" (Sammy Baugh)
I would love to see Manning get injured and be out for the season and see Surgi take the Colts to the playoffs.......that would definitely shut up these dellusional Manning lovers.
Yes, Manning calls the plays but........did anyone stop to think that given his pathetic playoff record, maybe he SHOULDN'T be calling the plays......ever think of that?
totally........Manning, one of the top Dome QBs in NFL history........

For those many Brady haters out there, here's a link to a great article on Brady's evaluation of his own talents (from the jack-off Ron Borges, who finally wrote - we think - a decent article):
http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/rap_sheet/?p=4599
Brady's own words rgarding his physical talents: "I don’t think I ever believe I’ve got it figured out because I was never the best athlete,” Brady told Borges this week. “There were always guys picked ahead of me. No matter how much you win you don’t forget that. I don’t believe I’m very good. If I don’t put the work in there I don’t believe I’ll be very good. That’s how I’ve come to see it.
This guy may not be born with the natural ability of Peyton Manning, but anyone who has followed his career knows without a doubt that he'd be able to take that POS Browns team and make a contender out of them, or take Cutler's Bears and get them to a Super Bowl.
How does Brady put up those W's? He studies like a mother and figures out how to take the most of his talents and beat you with your weakneses. Bill Belichick schemes like no other coach in the NFL, but it doesn't work a damn without Brady.
Peyton Manning - good as he is - knows enough to respect this guy, Brady's beaten him enough times.
Hey Rich, the scheme worked pretty well last yr without Brady now didn't it. Or did you forget that. Cute article by the way illustrating Brady's humbleness and work habits. Fuking amazing. Hell, no telling how good Peyton Manning would be if he actually studied and showed up to work early every once in a while.(eyeroll)
And I just looove the argument of head to head match ups. Or "beaten him enough times" as you have put it, like they've done 12 rounds in a ring or something. Thats not exactly comparing apples to apples genius. Thats ok, we don't need to give the New England D and the rest of their team being, you know, better or anything if you don't want
hahahaha golongboyee you just proved the point that Manning is better than Brady. Without Manning the colts would suck. Without Brady the patriots went 11-5. Isnt that proof that manning is better since the team would not be as good without him, unlike the patriots losing brady? You just ruined your whole argument hahahahaha

Juvenile??? Not any more so than your butt buddy, haywoodjablowtheentirepatsteam...oh yeah, I forgot...you Pats fan losers always cut each other slack on the same type of things that you all attempt to bash others on.
BTW, the Pats DEFENSE is who beat Manning NOT Brady, fool...just as those three Super Bowls were won by the same Pats DEFENSE. Too bad for them that you Pats losers always try and take the credit that they deserve and give it to Tammy (Brady).
