The Miami Dolphins have made official what they had previously announced: Linebacker Joey Porter is inactive for today's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Porter was the most notable name on the list of inactives distributed by the league.
The Dolphins' other inactives are third quarterback Tyler Thigpen, running back Kory Sheets, linebacker Erik Walden, tackle Andrew Gardner, guard Justin Smiley, tight end Anthony Fasano and defensive tackle Paul Soliai.
The Buccaneers' inactives are wide receivers Antonio Bryant and Yamon Figurs, cornerback Mike Mickens, running back Chris Pressley, guard Shawn Murphy, tackle James Lee and defensive end Stylez White. Byron Leftwich is the Bucs' third quarterback.

As a diehard Dolphin fan all I have to say regarding Joey Peezy is yaaayyyyy finally!! Let the Cameron Wake era begin!
I don't understand why we went out and got Thigpen and we're not using him. Why not make him the 3rd QB? Then you can use White however you want without worrying about him going down. If Henne gets hurt, you put in Thigpen and White's day is done. I would think that, given the types of plays White has been in on so far, you could give Thigpen second string reps at practice, because I don't think anyone wants White playing pure QB at this point anyway.
It seems like simple logic to me.
Walden a ST stalwart and good run stuffer is a truly healthy scratch. He must have popped off good on Saturday.
We Miss You Dan, because they are thin at OL, TE, LB right now, I don't want to see us bringing 3 QBs. With the spread showing results last game and the Bucs being horrible at stopping the run, expect to see some more of the Pat White package.
Wake is better than Porter anyways, maybe now Miami will see this
You knew this one was coming, but Joey Porter was pretty inactive LAST week, too.
pitt, Wake may be better as a young, pure pass rusher but not against the run or in coverage. Charlie Anderson is the best available all-around outside LB at the moment -- and he's showing it.
I just watched Wake put Freeman on his face.
I hope Tony and Bill were watching.
