We’ll have to keep waiting for the next meeting between old friends Keith Rivers and Hines Ward.
The Bengals linebacker won’t be on the field in Pittsburgh on Sunday because of a calf injury and/or illness. Brandon Johnson will take his place in the starting lineup and will presumably be keeping his head on a swivel when Ward is on the field.
Also out for the Bengals is guard Evan Mathis, who will be replaced in the lineup by Nate Livings. Maurice Purify, promoted from the practice squad in the wake of Chris Henry’s injury, is active, while Jerome Simpson is inactive.
The Steelers will be without defensive end Travis Kirschke for the second straight week, but are otherwise fully stocked for their battle for the top spot in the AFC North.
The rest of the inactives for this contest are a short click away at NFL.com.
The Steelers are never “fully stocked” when you take away the best 3-4 defensive end in football (Aaron Smith) away from our team.
BUT, as Lord Tomlin always says, no excuses. We have a standard in Pittsburgh, and the next guy up must uphold that standard.
Go Steelers!
i love how everyone’s acting like poor keith wont get a chance to exact his revenge on Hines…
Ummmm I believe he’s already had one whole game to do so and didn’t.
Hines Ward’s face when Cinci threw that winning TD would have been the revenge for Rivers. He is a team-first player and being apart of the winning team would have been a great feeling. Personal revenge is what Ward wants you to go looking for, therefore he won.
yeah, Rivers did have a game with Ward on the field and yeah nothing happened…oh wait, something did happen. the Bengals won.
BUT, as Lord Tomlin always says, no excuses. We have a standard in Pittsburgh, and the next guy up must uphold that standard.
