Orton out, Simms in

With Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton hobbled by an ankle injury suffered in the second quarter of Sunday’s game at Washington, Chris Simms has replaced Orton to start the second half.

It’s unclear whether the Broncos properly disclosed that Orton would not be returning to start the third quarter.  The CBS announcing crew seemed to suggest that Orton had been pretending that he’d be re-entering the game after halftime.

The Broncos were once fined for failing to properly disclose an in-game injury to quarterback Jake Plummer.

Simms completed one of five passes for five yards in his first drive of the game.

It seems like the Broncos are cheating once again.

Maybe Orton thought he would be playing after halftime. Maybe hte coaching staff overruled him.

So much for the brewing, or should I say, supposed, Orton – Simms QB controversy.

The wheels just came off the Donk’s season, Cinderella just tried to climb into her pumpkin.
I always liked Chris Simms, but it ain’t happenin’ with him driving this bus. Better hope Orton just stubbed a pinkie toe or soemthing.

and maybe he is starting to play like he did with the bears and the coaching staff is using the injury to see if simms can straighten out a team that has now lost what 3 in a row.how do you like him now bronco fans?

CYGNUSX-1: “how do you like him now bronco fans?”
You are really proving yourself to be a world-class buffoon. Orton was cleaning house with DC before getting hurt. Do you actually WATCH any football, or do you just say stupid things about Kyle Orton all the time?

    @Richm2256:
if he just stubbed a pinkie toe…
1.) Why did they keep talking about BOTH of his legs?
and 2.) If it was just a stubbed toe wouldn’t he have been back?

hey richman your hatred of cutler just blinds you to the obvious.let’s see the bears started out 5-0 under orton last year and how did thier season turn out?now your precious broncos started out 6-0 under orton and are now 6-3.anybody see a pattern here?guess that is something else you will blame cutler for right?and your broncos lost to the redskins of all teams!gonna blame that on Jay to?where has all the genius coaching gone?can’t score and the defense can’t stop anyone, speaking of familar patterns sounds alot like last years bronco team to me.

Cygnus, you’re officially retarded. If I remember correctly, the Bears season went down because Orton got hurt last year, not because Orton played poorly.
And if you saw even 5 minutes of the first half today, you would have seen Orton play an almost perfect half. They only punted once out of 4 drives with 2 TDs and a FG. If he came back out in the 2nd half, Denver would have won today.
So yes, we stick by Orton. Unlike the guy who had 5 INTs the other day…what’s his name again? Oh, I forgot — the “franchise QB” who you just gave $30m is already irrelevant (unless you’re answering a trivia question about the DUMBEST trade ever).
