Report: No Sharper for the Saints

Earlier this week, we mentioned on SportingNews.com the fact that the Saints are only a 13.5-point favorite over the Rams, despite the fact that the Saints are averaging more than 30 points per game against teams better than the Rams, and that the Rams are averaging fewer than 10 points per game against teams worse than the Saints.

Injuries could make the Saints’ job a little harder on Sunday.  According to NFL Network, safety Darren Sharper is not expected to play, due to a knee injury.

Sharper has been listed as questionable.  Already out for the Saints is cornerback Jabari Greer.

The 13-year veteran safety has had a tremendous impact on the New Orleans defense.  His seven interceptions and three touchdowns have put him squarely under consideration for the defensive player of the year award.

Without Sharper, it might be hard for the Saints to slow down the Greatest Show on Turf Greatest Turds on Show.

If not having Sharper makes an impact on the outcome vs. the Rams then the Saints are an over rated team for sure. Good teams win with key injuries.

No big deal Sharper has been terrible this year anyway.

For Pervy, you’d be right if the Saints were missing Sharper alone. As mentioned above, they are also missing Greer, which amounts to half of their secondary. They are also missing their two starting DT’s (Sed Ellis for 6 weeks and Clancy for the year).
    Igottz: I’ll assume sarcasm.

You DO know that Sharper is tied for the league lead in picks with SEVEN, right??
