Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu left today’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a knee injury and is not expected to return.
CBS reported during the game broadcast that Polamalu “tweaked his knee,” and that the team termed his return today as “doubtful.”
Polamalu has been his usual spectacular self when healthy this season, but he hasn’t been healthy for most of the year. In the season opener he made a sensational interception but then left the game with a knee injury, and he missed the next four weeks.
Today’s injury is to his left knee, the same knee he injured in Week 1.
Surprise, surprise! Another dirty Steeler is having durability issues after massive steroid abuse?
Not a Steeler fan (Actually I probably give the Steelers more crap than anyone here) but I hope he is okay, the game is more fun to watch with him in the lineup.
Though it is arguable whether or not he is the best saftey in football, it is NOT arguable that he isn’t in the top 3.
Another victim of that crappy Heinz Field grass?
Good!
The Patriots just became the favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.
Can 1 of you guys please post a story about which reciever was carted off the field for the Jaguars. I know Torry Holt has stepped up for the injured players. I just wanna know if Mike Sims-Walker was the one who was hurt b/c hes starting in 2 of my pay fantasy teams.
Madden Strikes again. What about Larry madden, you hate the steelers that much???
How fragile.
A true football fan never wishes for a player to get injured!
That being said, depending on how serious the injury is, that could be the end of the Steelers playoff/super bowl hopes for the year. If memory serves, their only losses came while Polamalu was out were they not?
“The Patriots just became the favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.”
As a Pats fan, I still have to say, the Colts might have something to say about that before it’s all over.
Nevermind I answered my own question
Jarrett Dillard, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday 11/15, 12:51 PM CT
Wide receiver Jarrett Dillard injured his right leg early in the second quarter of the Week 10 game against the Jets. He was carted off the field.
Our View: The rookie hasn’t had a big impact this season, but he has been working his way more into the lineup. We’ll let you know when we have more details.
Ladies and Gentlemen i give you your new Bob Sanders…Troy Pineappleindian.
no Polamalu === no Super Bowl
let’s be honest here … that defense feeds off Troy’s play
what a classy player …. love to watch him play(fyi: I’m a Colts/Redskins fan, so no need to call me a Steeler homeboy)
He is going to be fine and Bill Polian is a scumbag hermaphrodite with Oedipal issues and no scrotum who gets his butt kicked everyday by his butch wife.
@ Bill Polian..
Steroid abuse? Have you ever seen Troy Polamalu?
Troy might very well be the Steeler’s MVP. He’s a lot of fun to watch play & Steelers seem to struggle without him
“As a Pats fan, I still have to say, the Colts might have something to say about that before it’s all over.”
Who the hell cares what the Colts have to say. The road to the SB runs through the Steelers. Good luck to either the Cheatriots or the Colts.
Lol, Bill Polian. TRUE!
12:05 mark, 3rd quarter. Bengals, 3rd down & 7 from the stealer 11 yd line.
Shotgun.
Carson Palmer, short right to J Foschi.
Ryan Clark launches his whole body, helmet first into Foschi’s face. Leading with the crown of the helmet, into Foschi’s “defenseless” face.
NO FLAG.
Do you know why? Because it was only a 6 yard gain, & the Bungles needed 7, so they had to settle for a fg. If the flag flew (like it should have…AND a possible fine) Bengals would have been first & goal from the 3.
NO WAY can the US Ambassador to Ireland & the NWO permit that. Why don’t the squealers just bring out the Sound Cannons when the bungles are in the redzone. That’ll stop ‘em!!!
Bengals fan here and I will still say he is an amazing player. I am sorry he is out, if the bengals are going to win I want the best players on the field for BOTH sides.
The same left knee, or his other left knee?
Gratz Bengals, you won a tough game. Represent the division the best that you can and you’ll be winners for sure.
To the d-bags happy about Troy P’s injury, die slowly and alone.
A decent human being isn’t happy about any player’s injury, an or not. For the idiot who thinks Troy is on steroids, you obviously know nothing about the Samoan people. They are often built very strong and sturdy, no need for steroids!
Big loss but the steeler faithful cant say we stole this one with Benson out. Tit for tat. That being said I hope both make back in the lineup soon!
Troy is definitely not on steroids, ashleys right about the Samoan people being naturally built. My best friend is Samoan and he’s built. As for the injury coming from a steelers fan, its bound to happen sometime. The way he flies and throws his body around i’m surprised he can still move the way he does. Congrats to the Bengals though
This could be an injury that may seriously affect how our B&G does this year. As noted, our only 3 losses happened when Troy was out of the lineup.
You have give props to the BenGals. They played like the Steelers better than we did today. But they have to play every game with that same Steeler intensity and rage for more than 9 games to lose their cupcake reputation and fun nicknames that they have earned over the years.
Any football fan that roots for players of any team to get hurt for any reason should seek professional mental health care or is just a royal #sshole. Same goes for the slug accusing Troy of drug use. Jerks that anonymously make accusatory claims based on no fact are pathetic liars and losers.
