Broncos-Redskins one-liners

Rust showed on Broncos QB Chris Simms during the second half of Sunday’s 27-17 loss to the Redskins.

Said Broncos coach Josh McDaniels after his team gave up 174 rushing yards, “I’m always concerned if we’re having trouble stopping the run. Right now, we are.”

The switch to Russ Hochstein at left guard didn’t pay off the way the Broncos hoped it would.

Broncos RB Knowshon Moreno ran for 97 yards, the highest total so far in his rookie season.

Broncos WR Brandon Marshall had 115 yards on his first two catches, but only 19 on his next three.

Said Redskins RB Ladell Betts of his 114 yards rushing, “It’s not all about me, it’s really a team effort, and the guys up front blocked and did a great job.”

The Redskins benched CB Carlos Rogers after Marshall’s first touchdown catch.

Redskins WR Devin Thomas made several Broncos defenders miss on a crucial 27-yard catch-and-run in the fourth quarter.

Redskins P Hunter Smith’s 35-yard touchdown pass on a fake field goal took him back to his days as a high school quarterback.

Redskins DE Andre Carter and LB Brian Orakpo combined for three sacks and 13 tackles.

I enjoy those with the classic logic.
    Lions beat the Redskins and
    Redskins beat the Broncos,
therefore the Lions are better than the Broncos.
    It isn’t that easy.

Hey, I’ve been critical of the team this year, but they deserve a lot of credit for finding a way to run the ball and to win the game.
    WTG, Skins!!!
