Cable hasn't decided his quarterback yet

The Bengals have held Jay Cutler, Joe Flacco, and Ben Roethlisberger to one combined touchdown pass the last three weeks, while picking off six passes.  So the team’s secondary probably isn’t losing sleep about whether they will face JaMarcus Russell or Bruce Gradkowski this week.

For now, Raiders coach Tom Cable isn’t saying who the Bengals should start preparing for.  He will announce his quarterback decision on Wednesday, and insists the decision is his to make.

Gradkowski hasn’t played particularly better than Russell in two relief appearances, but it would be interesting to see how he’d do with a week of practice to prepare.  Making the decision tougher is a hamstring injury Gradkowski suffered Sunday.

It would be also be interesting to see if there was any fallout should Cable decide to bench Russell for good.

Taking coaching tips from Mangina does not a long career make.

Gradkowski is definitely not the answer long term but the Raiders have to do something different. There are 6th grade QB’s putting up better passing stats than Jamarcus. If Garcia had stuck around he would have been the starter 4 weeks ago.
I can’t wait for Al Davis to officially go senile and someone (anyone) else can finally run this terrible franchise.

No coach would ever play Russell this long if it wasn’t for the threat of an immediate firing from a certain egotistical gimped up crazy owner. Cable should just kick Al Davis’s ass too and flush JaMarcus Turd Russell down the toilet for good.

JaMarcus is going to light the bengles up, oh wait, no he’s not.

Looking at Vince Young and Alex Smith makes it understandable to bench him but gradkowski is short as hell and sucks just as much so there isnt an improvement there. But is it the right thing to do? The recievers need to do a better job and they need an o line that does not mess up the 2 plays that cost the game. The deep pass in the second quarter and the screen for the first and goal in the third quarter were called back because of o line penalties. And how many drops were there from the WR’s. I was sitting 8th row behind the raider bench during the game and the fans obviously think it was all his fault which is sad because while he has done his part there are 10 other guys out there who can all be held to blame for various individual plays and moments that have cost the raiders chances to win games.

I am a Bengals fan, and I live in Cincinnati, and I really don’t get to see JaMarcus play other than highlights. Is he really as bad as he seems in the highlights and his stats show or is it more of the fact that the Raiduhs just don’t have the people on the field to make him the quarterback that he was hyped to be?

Cable is done anyway. He might as well do what he wants for the remainder of the season. He can play the giant idiot or the bald circus midget, or install the triple option. He’s still getting fired.

Raiders, do yourselves a favor and run the ball every down, you have three viable backs, and no viable QB’s.
That said, this is a trap game for the Bengals, we historically suck on the left coast, and the last two weeks have been emotionally draining I’m sure, no Texans repeat please Bengals.

why hasnt russell been added to this list yet…what more do you want to see from him? bottom line is unless he goes to a better team and shows he actually can throw with an oline then its time to move on and draft sam bradford with that future 2010 #1 pick. yes, im calling it.

Charlie Frye is a much better QB than both Russell and Grads.
I hope he gets the start.

Considering Gradkowski’s biggest mistakes are bouncing balls off of the chests of his receivers that are then intercepted despite having very few reps during the week, Gradkowski should probably be the starter over OffdaMarcus.
Of course with Gradkowski’s hamstring and the Bengals coming to town, it would be fun to see the fat lazy piece of crap throw a few more wayward passes.

I just watched the post game press conference and it’s very clear to me that fat bastard won’t be playing next week and maybe much longer than that.
Cable went on and on about Frye and the way he studies the game and works hard.
I know the haters will dump on Frye too but really, the Raiders don’t need a star QB to win some games, just an average one will do.

put Rusty @DE and start another QB…
It can’t be good when a stop gap is better than the first overall pick..

“I really don’t get to see JaMarcus play other than highlights. Is he really as bad as he seems”
he is that bad. even in practice he is long, short, high, low, inaccurate

Gradowski beat the Bengals when he QB for Tampa Bay in 2006.
The Bengals are shaking in their boots.

  18. SF Saints Fan says: Nov 16, 2009 10:26 PM

He should be more concerned about his receivers. The Raiders receivers must drop so many balls during practice that there are probably divots in the practice field where all the balls land……
Seriously, the Raiders receivers must flat out drop ten balls per game.

Isn’t this the perfect time for an afc north team to say playing the Raiders is like a scrimmage? Bengals=eagles?

Murphy wide open down field, makes a catch! First down and in scoring position. Wait, phantom tripping call on Gallery. Bring it back and stall the drive. Thanks ref, a DL falls so it must be intentional tripping.

At this point, the bald circus midget is his best weapon on offense!
    Bye Bye Cable Guy!

Cable is the next Madden, he will be good in the future.
When the Raiders move, Davis will give him the tools he needs.

This is the definition of a trap game. I don’t fear the Raiders, but reverting to the Bungles scares me. 9 games into a really good season isn’t enough to erase my fears, they tend to play down to the level of supposedly inferior opponents, and this is a long way to travel.
