Week Ten Morning Aftermath

We’re back for another game-by-game look at the weekend that was in the NFL.

And under the guise of enhancing your reading experience (but with a selfish eye toward reducing the amount of time we spend on writing these things), we’ll be focusing on one or two intriguing aspects of each game, in PFT style.

So here we go, with several from MDS and a cameo appearance from Rosenthal.

Colts 35, Patriots 34:  William E. Belichick, Super Genius.

Bengals 18, Steelers 12:  By sweeping the Ravens and the Steelers, Cincy wins the first-ever Myron Cope Trophy.

Jaguars 24, Jets 22:  The touchdown Maurice Jones-Drew didn’t score could be the most important one of the year.

Chargers 31, Eagles 23:  The Eagles are sinking, the Chargers are soaring.  It must be the middle of November.

Dolphins 25, Buccaneers 23:  An ugly win has one key thing in common with a pretty win.

Packers 17, Cowboys 7:  For a change, the Packers didn’t lay an egg.

Redskins 27, Broncos 17:  And now we know why Chris Simms didn’t beat out Kyle Orton for the starting job.

Panthers 28, Falcons 19Atlanta’s failure not once but twice to take control of this one makes us wonder whether they really are moving in the right direction.

Titans 41, Bills 17:  Between Chris Johnson, Vince Young, and Bud Adams, this is the most exciting 3-6 team in league history.

Cardinals 31, Seahawks 20:  Seattle receiver Nate Burleson guaranteed victory, and he helped the effort with, um, no catches.

Chiefs 16, Raiders 10:  Darrius Heyward-Bey might have missed his calling; he’s apparently got great volleyball skills.

Saints 28, Rams 23:  As they get closer to 16-0, New Orleans needs to beware bad teams with nothing to lose.

Vikings 27, Lions 10:  The score is deceptive; the Vikings should have won by 30 — and could have easily lost, thanks to a variety of blunders.

A PERFECT florio weekend. Cowboys lose, PATRIOTS lose, cards win (so much for his “who are the cardinals” articles), Favre wins again. I LOVE when this happens. Not even one article on the cards this morning. Sour grapes huh Mike? Going to have Rosenthal or Smith write it? cs

Lord Florio and his minions have yet to write ANYTHING about the Vikings win yesterday either……
    What a tool………

The VIkings beat the Lions! lol DO you really need a pat on the back? The Lions have 1 win in what almost 30 games now? Congrats!

Watching SNF yesterday, I thought I saw something on screen that said: keyword “quarterback” on nbcsports.com to get more material from the Hall of Fame quarterbacks. Well, I went to nbcsports.com, and I did a search for quarterback. All I got was a link to Tony Romo dating Jessica Simpson and some other stuff. Weird.

What’s up twiz, congrats to the Vikes, you and the other Vikings fans on the win. Are you liking the florio hiding trick this am?
He doesn’t know which way to turn.

Its almost funny. All Lord Florio’s comments about Favre, all the crap he has spewed yet not one single word about how Favre threw for over 300 yards yesterday, how his QB rating was over 120, STILL only 3 interceptions for the year ,etc etc etc.
Not to mention the the contributions made by Rice (almost breaking a record), possible rookie of the year Harvin, the outstanding play of the Vikings front four (another network is holding a contest to name them, I happen to like Shock and AWWE (Allen, Williams, Williams, Edwards) and the entire team in general.
Lord Florio, feel free to use any of the above once you get to around to mentioning the 8-1 VIKINGS

Florio…in case you missed the Vikings game yesterday let me recap:
    Vikings win and go 8-1
    Fan holds sign saying Vikings+Favre=Superbowl
You cowardly hide by not mentioning it in your aftermath column.

  8. danlinker says: Nov 16, 2009 2:11 PM

Coward is correct. Florio IS a Major coward. If the Vikings had lost, florio would have worn out his keyboard with the bashing. I don’t mind so much that he does bash, except that when it goes the other way, he hides like a little Chicken #@^&.

Florio posts the “aftermaths” in order of the best game. Apparently he thinks the Vikings-Lions game was not a highly competitive game. He’s right.

  10. Twiz says: Nov 16, 2009 2:44 PM

I can hear it already…..Lord Florio is going to say the game was against the lowly Lions, therefore was not one of the better games for the day and doesn’t deserve to be talked about till one of the last games.
BULLPUCKY! Lord Florio is just proving he cannot handle the fact the Vikings are far better than he thought they would be.

“Coward is correct. Florio IS a Major coward. If the Vikings had lost, florio would have worn out his keyboard with the bashing. ”
The Vikings losing would have been a story.
The Vikings beating a team that has won once in recent memory…….not so much.
You’d need to be pretty stupid not to understand that. And we *know* that there are no stupid people posting here………..

Listen folks, I really couldn’t care less for Florio and his bias, “hidden agenda” comments but to post about the Vikings, really?? So if the Vikings play a pee-wee league (which they did in the Lions) and clobber them (like they did with the Lions), should we expect praises from Florio or any other sports writers for that matter? Are you serious? C’mon people, get your head out of your ass…we all know the Vikings are for reals and the team as a whole is playing lights out but do we need to be saying it EVERY week, especially after a Lions win? Relax, take a deep breath..we know at the very least, the Vikes are going to the playoffs and the only thing they have to worry about is not fading away when it matters (playoffs) and to make sure their players stay healthy………………………………………………………………For Pete’s sake, IT WAS THE LIONS!!!LMAO!

Ok, thats a valid argument but if that were to hold then why the hell is PFT mentioning a blowout in Titans/Bills and the most boring matchup of the week in Chiefs/Raiders?

  14. stopal01 says: Nov 16, 2009 3:24 PM

Beating the Lions in a boring game is not anything you need to rush to describe, and for everyone complaining about Florio’s Vikings takes, do you not realize that he is a life long Vikings fan? Listen to his interviews with PA on KFAN, they talk about it all the time.

  15. Abe71 says: Nov 16, 2009 4:09 PM

Funny, just the other week people were saying he was a Redskins fan.

  16. SpartaChris says: Nov 16, 2009 4:26 PM

Man, it cracks me up at how often someone comes in complaining about Florio hating their team. If you took some time to actually read the majority of articles he writes, you’ll find someone from every single team complaining about how Florio hates them.
@Twiz- Your article is up. Hope it’s all you ever wanted and more.
