Breaking down the Browns debacle

Rosenthal and yours truly didn’t confine the maiden voyage of the equipment I found in a dumpster outside 30 Rock to a discussion of the most dissected coaching decision in recent history.  We also talked about another bad coaching decision.

But this one involves a really bad team.

Here’s more on what transpired at the end of the Monday night game.

That looked like it was filmed in someone’s basement. Does NBC pay you guys in pizza?

No offense to Gregg Rosenthal, but Tiffany Simons needs to represent the NBCSports.com side of things. And Florio’s audio is muffled and video quality isn’t as crisp as the New York side. And you shouldn’t advertise that you are broadcasting from West Virginia, no need to go into the numerous reasons why. If Rosenthal is going to be here he has to wear a tie, this is supposed to be first class, not coach.

Pizza and Chinese food at least.

    Mike, the camera is tilted.

I love the fact that it says “West Virginia” under your face, Florio.
    LOL

  6. lcwhite says: Nov 17, 2009 9:20 PM

The Cleveland Plain Dealer had a photo on the front page this morning that says it all…a guy at the game was holding a sign that said” Hey Baltimore, would you take this team, too?

  7. The Real Shuxion says: Nov 17, 2009 9:31 PM

Florio followed it up by using the equipment to make a sex tape between himself, his wife, and the pat white poster he bought off amazon.com

    lmao!

Every damn time I come here I see something about the Browns.
Yes they suck. We all know that.

Florio: a) tie is crooked and I don’t like the striped shirt with red tie and dark jacket. Look like you’re getting ready for court.
    b) Can’t they put something under your picture instead of W. Va?!? East Coast? Johnson City, TN?!? Anything would be better, hell just lie and say New York.
    c) Rosenthal looks like he just pulled an all nighter and threw the jacket on, ran his fingers through his hair and found out the guy passed out next to the toilet used his tie as a bib.
SaintsBucsPanthersSUKK: right after you said “no offense” you offended the poor college kid with pizza sauce on his cheek. Nice, now his self esteem is nil……..

The problem is Mangini didn’t learn from his master’s mistakes in the past. When Belicheck implemented the tough regime angle, it didn’t work because he had no prior success and the players rebelled. It was only AFTER Belicheck won the Superbowl did they start to apply a tougher grasp on the organization. Mangini went to the same franchise and made the same mistakes. Source: The book I read about Belicheck.

    Wayne’s World…Party Time…Excellent!
Who the hell is Greg Rosenthal? Did he borrow his high school’s AV equipment. This project is sure to earn a C.

It was a freak injury. Shit happens. What happened to “play for 60 minutes”? I don’t think Mangini is much of a coach, but I can’t fault him for instilling in his team a mindset of fighting to score no matter what.

    Cut!
Can we do that again from the top?
PS – I think Rosenthal is in ‘like’ with you

Of course it says West Virginia Florio is in a hidden location in his master control football room

I’m a Browns fan and I’m a Brown hater. This team is a disgrace. The whole organization is a disgrace.

…I never thought I could say this, but Rex Grossman would be an improvement at quarterback for the Browns…

  19. SmackMyVickUp says: Nov 17, 2009 11:32 PM

Bad camera angles make Florio look like Peter North for some reason. Actually watched the video to the end waiting for a hot lady to walk out from behind the camera and cheesy music to start playing.

If you really want to use this new format, force Brocato to drive to New York every time you want to do a new segment.

Since you found the equipment in a dumpster, could you spend a little of what you earned to buy Gregg Rosenthal a comb and a tie? Gregg, don’t sit there with a goofy grin plastered on your face when discussing someone else’s short comings when you look like a highschool kid wearing the same clothes he fell asleep in after last nights kegger. You look ridiculous.

  22. JoeSixPack says: Nov 17, 2009 11:42 PM

MangIdiot just wanted to create another “remarkable similarity” with Belichick and have his own questionable final call of the game.
This is one time when Mangini is right… there ARE a lot of similarities between the Browns and the Patriots.
In fact, I think the same guy who stabbed Kokinis in the back also did the same thing to Belichick.

Remember when Mangenius had that cameo on “The Sopranos”? Dude’s stock has fallen faster than Enron’s.

  24. filthylucre says: Nov 18, 2009 3:52 AM

Quit lyin’ out your ass, Florio, you know damn well they don’t allow you anywhere NEAR 30 Rock. Not even the dumpster.

  25. gangsterofboats says: Nov 18, 2009 7:54 AM

Really? Comments about his jacket and tie? Comments about the camera equipment and the graphics?
    Fags.
The commentary (which you should really pay attention to unless you are in high school AV Club) is spot on. Mangini is an @$$ who will frankly be lucky to finish the season. He certainly inherited a bad team. But they had pro bowlers and play makers at QB, OL, DL, WR, RB and TE. The reason Romeo had to go was because he could not win with those players. Mangini has made many proven players look much, much worse under his leadership while getting rid of play makers like Edwards and Winslow for 3d round picks.
