The MVP debate will continue throughout the 2009 season, and possibly beyond.
But there can be no debate regarding the hard numbers generated via the Pro Bowl ballots cast by NFL fans.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees currently leads the way, with 539,228 votes. Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is in second place, with 532,455.
Next on the list are two Vikings: running back Adrian Peterson (529,319) and quarterback Brett Favre (476,799).
At No. 5 is Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald (328,451). Sixth is Bengals running back Cedric "Pay the Man!" Benson, with 321,552.
Rounding out the top ten are Pats quarterback Tom Brady (295,477), Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (291,466), Texans receiver Andre Johnson (279,395), and Colts tight end Dallas Clark (274,400).
The NFC leaders at the various positions reflect a high concentration of Vikings fans stuffing the ballot box. Currently, Peterson, fullback Fahu Tahi, tackle Bryant McKinnie, guard Steve Hutchinson, center John Sullivan (who?), kicker Ryan Longwell, kick returner Percy Harvin, defensive end Jared Allen, defensive tackle Kevin Williams, and special-teamer Heath Farwell are in first place at their respective positions.
Fan voting, player voting, and coach voting are used to determine the Pro Bowl rosters.
Why bother voting for Favre? Father time is too busy retiring to even go to the Pro Bowl.
What this proves is that Vikings fans have no lives.
Remember last year when the 'Skins led the initial fan balloting in every category but 1, I think?
How'd that end up working out for them.
The Pro-bowl is such a sham popularity contest. Didn't Favre get voted in last year when he leading the league in INT's?
Yeah, theres real credibility in getting nominated for that...
Fitzgerald is the best player in the nfl
The probowl is a joke. Popularity contest that no one watches.
You had to throw in that "despite best efforts of Vikings fans" line right Florio? So only Vikings fans acknowledge Favre and Peterson as outstanding athletes? Only Vikings fans would vote for those two? You make it seem like Vikings fans (yes including me) are out to take down all other MVP candidates. Come on man, this site is going down the tubes and its solely because of you.
Would you expect anything less of the Viking Nation Florio?? We love our team and are the greatest fans! Hard to argue with voting numbers. Favre NFL MVP Allen Defensive MVP through 9 games. cue the douche bags who will say can't sell out the dome, will move to L.A. LMAO Haters,Vikings going nowhere!
There is an easy explanation for this. Viking fans don't know much about football so they just vote for anyone wearing fag purple. In all fairness, they can't be expected to know all that much, the franchise hasn't won many playoff games as of late but they sure know how to choke in NFC Championship games and Superbowls.
They could go 15 - 1 again this year but let's all remember the last time that happened, their field goal kicker missed his only FG all year as they lost to the Falcons. (at home no less) But they made up for that the next year in a real close one to the Giants, 41-0. Sucks to the Viking fan especially when you look along their side line and see Mr. Noodle doing his best impersonation of an NFL coach.
What else is there to do in Minn???
they can send as many pro bowlers as they like, they are still going nowhere. Look at Dallas in 07.
That is because Vikings fans are the best fans in the nation. Not like those Green Bay Sackers in the crappy state to the east of us!!!! Packer fans are a group in disarray and busy jumping off of the old wagon.
Hey Patriotssslkjad- looks like you are the loser hitting f5 all of the time. Patriots choked big time when it has counted this year. Shows they are just an average team when not cheating it up.
Yes, the Minnesota masses are overwhelming the voting. Are there a million people in Minny?
Pro Bowl's all about the money.
Drew Brees deserves to be there. Without him, the Saints are an average team.
Larry Fitzgerald too. No love for Romo or Randy Moss I see.
Jimmy Smith you're just a pure jackass. haha please tell me that you're a packers fan.
Viking fans don't know much about foootball? JimmySmith must be dumb, Viking fans are very knowledgable fans. Unlike Packer fans. Even a Green Bay native said there's not much to do in Green Bay besides watch the Packers, go to a bar to get drunk & cow tipping.
Get a life Jimmy
Vikes fan are complete crap...Bears aren't any better.
Outside of Sullivan and Tahi you could make a very strong argument for every other name on that list.
It doesn't matter...Favre, AP and company won't be playing in the Pro Bowl.....It's the week before the Super Bowl! ;)
@ Contra
Calm down a little.
I think this is what he was referring to
"Currently, Peterson, fullback Fahu Tahi, tackle Bryant McKinnie, guard Steve Hutchinson, center John Sullivan (who?), kicker Ryan Longwell, kick returner Percy Harvin, defensive end Jared Allen, defensive tackle Kevin Williams, and special-teamer Heath Farwell are in first place at their respective positions".
This is what I hate about early PB voting.
Like jkorn says:
Look at Dallas in 07.
Jimmy, you and Mr Nelson are going to have to man up & face it one of thse days. The Vikings are better than us this year and we helped them get there. Drag up all that historical BS you want to if it makes you feel better, don't forget our trophy case now.
I'm not putting then in the SB by any means but geez man, give it a rest.
Hey JimmySh!thispants- Thought you were not suppose to be on Vikings threads. Some bet you loss when your Sackers got crushed by the Vikings 2x. Not to mention your embarrassing loss to Tampa. Sackers were easily the most over-rated team this season. Look to be at the bottom of the conference next year after the lions pass your pathetic a$$es.
why waste the vote??? if Brees gets an MVP vote & goes to the Superbowl he won't play in it anyway!!! KEEP THE PRO BOWL IN HAWAII & AFTER THE Super Bowl!!! the players deserve a vacation too!!! Goodell sucks!!!
The vikings fans should use their best effort to try and get a new stadium built.
The obvious amount of free time Vikings fans have is surprising when one considers the (relatively) low unemployment rate of 7.1%.
@Jimmy
Funny you rip on Childress when your entire fanbase has been calling for McCarthy's head. Say anything you want, but I'm sure it sucks knowing you have no shot at the division. Just keep talking...
just a quick thought here, but a majority of those players ARE playing at or near the top of the league at their respective positions. Favre is playing great, AP is probably the best RB in the NFC, if not the league (chris johnson deserves serious consideration), McKinnie and Hutch are about the best left side of an OL in the league, Williams and Allen are the 2 best DL's in the league easily, Farwell is clearly a HUGE guy on special teams (see the vikings ST last year without him), Harvin is winning ROY for the NFC, and should be the pro bowl kick returner, longwell is as good as anyone this year for kickers. Sullivan has been doing an incredible job at center, remember that the guy had to take over for Birk, and those are HUGE shoes to have to fill, both in the locker room and on the line itself so why not send him. The only one I'm not sold on his tahi, but if he's got the balls to wrestle with peterson, he should qualify soley on the testicular fortitude. as a blocker and FB he is probably not the best in the league right now, but still hard to ignore.
Haters need to get over themselves, yes, we are all happy for you that the packers have won a single superbowl in the last 40 years, I'm sure that helps you sleep at night. Last i checked, the vikes have a better record this year, and did last year, but why let that get in the way of making no sense at all right?
@chapnasty you've got a good point in that its not the ratings draw it probably once was, but it can make a differance on the HOF balloting years down the road, and obviously coaches and players have a big role in it, because otherwise shouldn't the largest markets in the country win EVERY year, like the cowboys and giants? oh wait, they are sucking respective fat ones this year so that must not be it....
lmao, I would say that Tahi and John Sullivan aren't worthy of those selections. But the rest for sure deserve a spot. Especially Heath Farwell, the special teams is top ranked and has improved Drastically from last year.
Let the Viking fans vote whoever they want to the Pro Bowl. Selected Viking players will be well rested, it's not like they have played in the Super Bowl or anything.
Let's ramp up the will he or won't he come back in 2010 instead.
how can viking fans call themselves the "best fans" because you are all losers stuffing the ballots? Grown men voting for jarred allen, how pathetic. The best fans, thats why you were threatened a black out in the playoffs last yr and half the crowd was from philly. What an embarrassment, once your weak fan base moves to LA no one will vote, they will care as much about the vikings as they did the raiders or showing up on time for dodgers games.
Most of those guys aren't going to want to play, because the game isn't in Hawaii, GUARENTEED FARVE WON"T PLAY, he'll come up with one of those "phantom injuries", we'll hear about the guys that should have been picked for the pro bowl, but someone less deserving got picked, by the time the game rolls around watch how many bail, heard Ray Lewis doesn't want to go, because the games's not in Hawaii, and Lewis is from Miami, the one all star game I make a point NOT TO WATCH
looks like "most players in the pro bowl" will be the vikings consolation prize for not winning the super bowl yet again

I'm assuming that was sarcasm or you are playing the opposite game like you did when you were a child. Vikings are still having problems selling out home games and they are 8-1. They couldn't even sellout the first home playoff game in 10 years. You are by far the biggest bandwagon fans in the NFL and not even good one's at that when you can't even jump on an 8-1 bandwagon. Obviously there are too many fans that are too scarred from all of the previous letdowns and choke jobs that make up the MN Viking history.
There are not many things in the world of sports as pathetic as people referring to themselves as "Nation"
Red Sox Nation
Viking Nation
Raider Nation
Packer Nation
You obviously have no idea how retarded that sounds.
Jimmy,
You complete douche. The Vikings-Packers series has had one playoff game. It was held at Lambeau and the Pack lost. Did you forget about this game?
Nafuawful Tahi ? I don't think that NFL fans are objective enough to vote for the Pro Bowl. Peyton Manning should be at the top of that list. Brees, Favre, and Peterson should be right up there. Tahi is terrible. He is inconsistent as a blocker and can't make a play when he touches the ball. If you need 3 yards, he'll get you one. If you need 1 yard, he'll get you -5. As far as production, Chris Johnson has been far more valuable than Adrian Peterson to his team. If you want an objective opinion, don't ask a sports fan.
only if cuntler had 20 thousand votes for each pick of the year, he'd be in a good position.
I think it's great that Vikes fans are showing support for their guys and letting them know how much they appreciate what they've accompished in the first half of the season. I hope they'll be sucessful in getting all their players voted in. They deserve the accolades and they would represent the NFC well by playing at a high level. After all, they'll be well rested.
@JimmySmith
Sucks to the Viking fan especially when you look along their side line and see Mr. Noodle doing his best impersonation of an NFL coach.
Actually our team is 8-1 and a regarded by most as the 3rd best team in the NFL. So unless you are a fan of either the Colts or the Saints than basically it sucks to be you.
And that Mr. Noodle has us with the 7th overall offense in terms of Yards, 2nd in scoring, highest rated passer, 2nd highest rusher, the RB with the 2nd most TDs and 4th leading receiver.
Hey PackQueer fans, make up your minds will ya? First you all say that we are fair weather fans and don't support our team, and now you are saying this shit? Get a life.
Also, as a Viking fan, Tahi doesn't belong in any discussion about the Pro Bowl. Favre, Peterson, Rice, and Harvin deserve it. Anyone of the OL deserve it, and any of our guys on the DL deserve it.
Favre because he is playing lights out.
Peterson because he is just a all around great player.
Rice because he leads the NFC in receiving yards.
Harvin because he turns a game around whether it be as a WR, or as a Kick Off returner.
Any of our OL because they are giving Favre great blocking and allowing him to make accurate passes all game long.
And any of our DL because they lead the NFL in sacks. We already have 3 Pro Bowlers on our DL, may as well make it a 4th.
Jimmy smith Hellllllllllloooooooooooo It is 2009
Vikings fans are best in the nation huh? then why do you almost always have trouble selling out games and barely avoid blackouts? Oh yeah I remember, because you are the most fairweather fans in the country. I might be mistaken but when the queens weren't doing so well(REGULAR SEASON) not too many posts about your "beloved queens" but sure enough you get a couple regular season wins and you wont STFU. But it's all good, your time is almost up, your QB has one maybe two productive years left and your "stadium(if you call the metrodome that) lease is almost up! and good luck with getting a new one once you crap out in the playoffs once again.
Sincerely,
Packer Fans who do not abandon their team when they're not doing well
The ignorance that shows up on this board is astounding.
Are some of you buffoons aware that Pro Bowl voters get to select THREE QBs in each conference?
Do y'all REALLY think that there are three QBs in the NFC who are having better seasons than Favre?
Nine games into the season, Favre is proving his critics to be completely wrong. He leads the NFC in QB rating, and he's second in completion percentage, tied for third in TD passes, and sixth in passing yards.
One more thing: he's only thrown three INTs, which is the fewest among current starting QBs in the NFC. (Brees has nine picks, BTW.)
janiesmith, patriotsob, and jkornhole1818 sound like a bunch of jealous 12-year-old girls with their asinine comments about Favre.
The best offensive player in the league this year, Chris Johnson, would be 3rd in the AFC in the voting for running backs. Haters.
JIMMYS LEFT NUT EVEN VOTED FOR FAVRE AND PETERSON!

That's quite the homer take you have going there. Do you honestly believe that Fahu Tahi is the best Fullback in the league? It's quite obvious that Vikings fans are stuffing the ballot box. John Sullivan? Adrian Peterson is not having the kind of season he can have. It may be on him but I think this offensive line is not as good without Matt Birk. Bryant McKinnie is not the best Left tackle in the league. Longwell is having a great season but he isn't the best kicker. I'm not hearing Heath Farwell's name much on special teams, although his return definitely helped the special teams improve. The site is going down the tubes because you want 30 Vikings to make the Pro Bowl? It's just football. It's a game. And you continue to show up here and bitch when your team isn't declared the best team to ever take the field. If you want subjective coverage, go sleep on Paul Allen's lawn. He'll tell you every day that the Vikings are the best at every position.
Nice to see you back JimmySmith. Its neat how you take your two week vacation after the Pack get humiliated twice by their neighbors to the west. Didn't hear a word from you. Glad you are back to show your stupidity.
I am a Vikings fan and I have voted for the Pro Bowl this year.
The only Vikings I have voted for are: Bryant McKinnie and Adrian Peterson. I am voting for other teams' players because they deserve a shot, too.
The Packers will have more players on the list as soon as more people in Wisconsin learn about this thing called the internet. What do you expect when the only entertainment in 90% of the state is going to a local bar that still uses a coat hanger for better TV reception.
Thanks for reminding me to vote! The Pro Bowl is fun and I've always watched because it's the last live NFL game we get for months. (Of course, now the league braintrust has ensured no one from the two Super Bowl teams will be there.)
Do most fans vote for their teams? Sure. I vote Steelers. But I don't just vote Steelers, nor vote for players who are having a pitiful year (sorry Jeff). I pull up the current stat list and fill in the rest of the spots with the top guys in each category, even if I hate their teams. Being a diehard fan, that's about as fair as I can be. Incidentally, Favre, Brees, and Manning are the top-ranked QBs statistically, and Peterson is the top RB. So the voting is pretty on-target.
@ JimmySmith
Wow "fag" purple??? Good one!!
Vikings 2-0 against the fudge packers
Go suck gayrods dick
To all the loser Viking bashers: hate on haters
The more you dislike the Vikings, the better they must be. It's obvious that you don't have anything positive to say about your pathetic team, so keep putting down one of the best if it helps you cope.
If the criteria for "MVP" is what I think it is and what it should be, then I don't know how anyone can't consider Brett Favre the MVP.....at this stage of the year. Things could change and I would be the first to vote differently if they did, but for the time being, try to forget what team your a fan of and what team you hate (rivals) and vote objectively and I think there is a better arguement for Manning and Favre to be battling it out for MVP than there is for D. Brees.....again, at this stage of the year.
Viking fans eat it, dont even compare to Packer fans, Steeler fans, Patriot fans - shall I go on, they only like their team when they are winners, which isnt often. I remember going to a Patriot vs Viking game about 4 years ago and boy those are by far the drunkest bunch of goofs I have seen, that dome stinks of alcohol and losses.
Shakespeare would be proud of this thread.
Favre leads the NFL in QB rating, and his 17 TDs/3 INTS is the best ratio in the league as well. Other than Brees, Favre should be at the Pro Bowl
Adrian? Nuff said. 2nd in rushing yards, and 2nd in rushing TDs.
Sidney Rice ranks 4th in the NFL in rec yards, and is only 10 catches behind Andre Johnson, last years reception leader, and whom is currently 3rd in yards.
Percy Harvin is the Rookie of the Year. Bank on it. Leads the league with 889 return yards, 2 TDs to go along with his 30+ receptions for over 400 yards and 3 TDs.
Jared Allen is the best DE in the league. Proof? 10.5 sacks, 3 FF (2 recovered), and 1 for a TD.
Kevin Williams leads the league in DT sacks.
Simply put, the Vikings front 4 could be considered as Pro Bowlers. Even the one "no-namer" on the line, Ray Edwards has 6 sacks this year.
Heath Farwell is 3rd in the NFL in special teams tackles, and is consistantly among the top ST players.
I agree, Sullivan and Tahi dont belong on the list, but everyone else certainly does.
Here is what most Packer fans know about football.

“A person is truly great when he is not envious of his rival's success” Why that explains the 100% shitbag rate of Green Bay fans! Not a great fan among them!
@franchise ...
Darren Sproles is leading the league in return yards with 948, followed by Josh Cribbs with 923, then Harvin with 889. Harvin is leading the NFC and I'm not arguing his greatness or his potential to be RoY ... but when you talk about the return leaders, you do have to count the AFC guys :-)
....besides rulz and BeercheeseSoup that is. So you have 2 great fans!LOL
The Pro-bowl is such a sham popularity contest. Didn't Favre get voted in last year when he leading the league in INT's?
Yeah, theres real credibility in getting nominated for that...
If they took the fan vote away completely, I might actually give a shit about who made the Pro Bowl
it sounds to me like vikings fans are finally getting it.... by this i mean they are starting to realize the catastrophic collapse that is coming in the future for them. they know damn well that the vikings will be getting no hardware come seasons end in the form of hoisting a lombardi and super bowl rings so they want to get their players something for their efforts................................ as parting gifts when the team dumps them and moves on to greener pastures where the happy cows roam.
No Vikings will be playing in the pro-bowl anyways. They got a game the next week.
Wow what a group whiney tit babies.
Packer fans find something else to do.
Please give up on the "they almost didnt sell out a playoff game"
"they almost didnt fill the seats blah blah blah"
I almost won the lottery, you effin retards!
almost almost almost already!!
Greenbay almost beat the VIKINGS also!!!
What now I sound as retarded as the fudgie fans. The Vikings killed the fudgies, get over it.
But hey, you can predict the seasons outcome right?
Just read the stats of years past, they will tell you how the Vikes will finish in 09-10, LAME!
Since your team sucks, cheer for maybe the Saints, that way you can atleast have something to talk about.
Jimmy made a bet with me saying that the Packers would crush the Buccaneers, and he lost, so he's not supposed to post for the month of November, BUT I know he loves this website and deep down Vikings so much, he absolutely CANNOT go a day without posting some pathetic insult towards the Vikings. just like Omega can't go a day without jerkin off FakeChicken while in Mom and Dads basement....
Vikings 8-1
Sackers 5-4
...... these are all facts.
Funny thing is that the Minnesota the entire population of the state of Minnesota is only 5.2 million. That compares to 19 million in New York State, 14 million in the New England states and 24 million in Texas. You can't seriously be saying that all of those players are just on the list because a few Minnesota fans are stuffing the ballot boxes. If is far more plausible that fans all over the nation are voting for Vikings players because they have a 8-1 record with a ton of talent on offense, defense and special teams.
They sent 7 players to the pro bowl last year with a 10-6 record. We'll see how things shake out when the coaches and players vote, but I doubt they'll send less than 7 players to the Pro bowl this year.
Farve leads the league in QB rating.
Peterson is 2nd in the league in rushing.
Sidney Rice leads the NFC in receiving yards.
Allen is second in the league in sacks.
Harvin leads the league in KO return average.
Name two better NFC guards than Hutch and two better NFC D tackles than Kevin Williams.
Need I say more?
I agree that Sullivan should not be on the list.
It doesn't matter if Favre gets the most votes anyhow because he will probably just drop out like he does every year.
and Naufahu Tahi? Based on what I have read from Viking fans, this guy isn't that good.
"No Vikings will be playing in the pro-bowl anyways. They got a game the next week."
When will you wake up from this dream?
i guess when your good you earn more fans . .which earns more fans "stuffing" the ballot box. its the least profitable franchise. with the most votes. im sure you can add up what that means.
8-1 team, and thier fan base excited about it? HOW PATHETIC THEY ARE INDEED FLORIO! why be excited over a team that is doing so well? what an embarrassment, right? i used to like the articles on this website, but lately, they suck. good for information, but too much opinion. i like some opinion, but not the amount lately.
with a viking franchise that's usually riddled with disapointment, this has, so far, been exciting for us Viking fans. who knows how it ends, it is the Vikings, but as of now, we are excited. i'm not predicting superbowl like some, but right now, things are good. could turn in an instant. we know more than any other how quick things can change; we are vikings fans.
and all those players you named on the vikings list are doing incredible this year. how about you add chad greenway, pat williams, ej henderson, sidney rice, and shiancoe to the list (not best at their position, but definite contenders for pro bowl).

Obviously there are too many fans that are too scarred from all of the previous letdowns and choke jobs that make up the MN Viking history.
====================
You are kidding, right? You are a tool, dude. Lets get the truth, shall we?
First truth: The Vikings are NOT having problems selling out. Do research. Don't believe everything you read.. And my God, especially from Florio..
Second truth: The Vikings did, in fact, sell out their home playoff game last year. Don't know where you got that idea...
Third truth: There are plenty of bandwagon fans on our team right now.. We have many, many former Packer fans to thank for that, too. Just because the PAYING fans demand a quality product to be put on the field doesn't make them bandwagon. It makes them smart. Unlike the paying fans some other teams have with waiting lists in the 10,000's..
Fourth truth: I don't get that last statement.. If Vikes fans cheer loud and proud, we get blasted about claiming the Vikings are SB winners this year. When we reserve our excitement one game at a time, we are 'scarred' from previous years' failures. I guess the fourth truth is you are a tool that loves sheep. Go drink some more beer and eat some more cheddar, you cheese-d*ck.
omega must be talking about chicago or green bay...by far the most immature drunk ass holes i have seen. just stop worrying about minnesota and go on watching your crappy boring football team for the remainder of the season.. we'll see how it turns out come playoffs
Most Vikes fans are not the fair weather type. Have you ever been to the Metrodome? It sucks. I would much rather be watching the game on my couch. It has to be the absolute worst stadium in the league. The parking situation is a pain. Getting out of downtown in under an hour isn't very easy either. We love the team up here, but the atmosphere of the Metrodome is not worth the hassle. Tahi is probably the best fullback in the league at catching a two yard dump pass and getting tackled immediately when you need 3 yards. He doesn't deserve to be on that list. Sullivan isn't having a bad year but he hasn't earned going to a pro bowl by any means. The other ones are either obviously worthy or at least debatable. And a grown man voting for Jared Allen is understandable when he has been in the opponents backfield as much as any other player in the league.
Maybe these retarded Viking bandwagon fans should exert as much energy into finding tickets on Sunday's so they don't continually face possible local blackouts. What a joke. Sitting on a computer for hours submitting pointless pro bowl ballots means nothing about their shitty fan base.

___________________________________________________
I call B.S. on this one.
He has no nuts.
You can't have it both ways. Well for some of you, you probably can, but I'm talking about the complaining of Vikings fans. You say they are terrible because they don't support their team and sell out their games (the fact is though - they do) yet you also say they are terrible because they are such supporters they myopically stuff the ballot box. Which one is it? Do they support their team or not?
Using JimmySmith's logic the Cleveland fans should be feeling pretty good about their team right about now. Heck, they should be dancing in the streets over all those championships they won with Otto Graham. Good times!
Time for this fan voting garbage to end. This used to actually mean something... but thanks to the braindead fans voting for their team it's worthless. Nice play you jerks.
It most certainly isn't a stretch to vote for Favre, Peterson, Allen, K Williams, Harvin or Hutchinson (even when he isn't having a typical Hutch year). Clearly Tahi & Sullivan aren't Pro Bowl worthy, but I doubt they'll stay in the lead anyways. Is anybody really up on all of the special teams aces to claim Farwell doesn't deserve it?
@ ewurm
You state with such certainty that McKinnie isn't the best LT & Longwell isn't the best kicker - then who is? Have you watched all of their games as well as as of the rest of the NFC games to know such a fact? I'm not saying they are the best, but I can't just rule them out either. They are both playing quite well this year. Take the tackle position for example, there has been a changing of the guard so to speak (I know, a bad paly on words). Walter Jones, Orlando Pace & Chris Samuels are all hurt or past their primes. It's been a joke for Flozell Adams to be chosen the last couple of years and Carolina's Gross is out for the season. I know they say the guy who replaced Brown in NO is playing great, but nobody knows his name. Give me some players you think should go before McKinnie & Longwell - thanks!
The one thing that doesn't make sense is if fans are just stuffing the ballot box, why aren't the names of Winfield, P Williams, Greenway & Henderson on this list as well? Two of them are past Pro Bowlers and the other two have been promoted as on the verge Pro Bowlers. Seems like they would be included if fans are just voting for Viking players.
@ buck_u_pack
Doesn't it just stand to reason that since there are more Viking stories on this site there will be more Viking fans posting on it as well? Not sure why thats so hard to figure out.
Blame global warming for the high Viking counts. Until the lakes freeze over and ice-fishing season starts, there's nothing better to do in Minny than sit at the computer all day.
If Sullivan is up there in Pro Bowl voting, they must be allowing first graders to vote -- he's been getting blown out all year.
As for the cheesers, wait and see how many Packers are in the Pro Bowl or on the All-Pro teams at year's end, and you'll understand why they're so crabby. The only remaining joy they apparently can obtain in their lives is now hoping the Vikes fail rather than hoping their decidedly-average team succeeds.
"We love our team and are the greatest fans!"
Hey Pervy let me fix that for you:
We love our team and are the greatest fans! - when we are winning and sometimes that's not even enough.....
And don't both debating it, I live in the Twin Cities and I listen to KFAN everyday. They were ready to lynch "Chilly" not even 12 months ago.
And I wouldn't be too sure about that "not moving" part either. Remember the North Stars? How the heck does the "State of Hockey" lose it's NHL team - by playing chicken over a new facility. Or how about the Timberwolves trying to move to New Orleans?
This town has too many liberals that want more Light Rail(that is a failure in process) and social programs before a new stadium will ever get approved.
The current administration in Minnesota isn't even going to touch the stadium issue until there is a new Governor in place - which will be after Ziggy's cutoff date.
Marcduke:
Nice of you to show your moldy ass again, of course. you had to wait for the Pack to win again before you could come back and shoot your mouth off....right?
Your opinion means nothing. You are a hypocrite.
My name is marc...with a c....precious.
I only post when my team wins.
Clinging to this issue of "moving" is pathetic..it just goes to show how far down you have to go because the Pack sucks.....turd
@ marcduke - WOW! I live an hour North of the Twin Cities and listen to KFAN too. So? Don't tell me and my buds what kind of fans we are. Like you know. I do agree their is many liberal types in this state, but moving the Vikings? Don't see. The Pack has a better shot of making the SuperBowl in the next ten years...and we all know that isn't happening. I best go now,Chickenfoot didn't leave many remains for me to feed on LOL
Green is the color of envy. Clearly, someone is envious.
Sorry Chickenfoot, I don't live in my mom's basement on my fat ass plastered to the internet like some people...To be honest this website has gone downhill rapidly over the past 6 months and you just reminded me why I stopped coming around.
Go ahead and think this is a non-issue, it will make it all the sweeter when the lease at the Dome runs out in 2011 and there's nowhere for the Vikings to play.
And Pervy, you and your buds may be "great fans" but don't tell me that you have a great fanbase, because it just isn't true.
Now both of you go ahead and get your predictable little internet name calling out of the way. I know you're just dying to do it.
@ marcduke- I'm a Iowan originally. I'll skip the name calling. I know how you liberal, sensitive Twin Cities chokes are. Wouldn't want you to need therapy or anything. Freakin' sissies
You didn't show up because the Packers were sucking ass. That is it chapter and verse.
Why don't you stop coming around for good?
No one missed your inane comments.
I'm sure you are in on the negotiations or talks for a stadium......
I guess the Packs fanbase is great because your ancestors mad sure lambeau was sold out for years to come.
I find it funny you come back only to talk about the Vikes, instead of your own team...
Piss off, oh well you wont be on here when the Niners beat the Pack this week anyway.
I'm still wondering WTF Godell was thinking putting the pro bowl right before the Super Bowl. I am petitioning for Viking's fans NOT TO VOTE Viking's fans into the pro bowl. What happens when one of our best players gets injured before the super bowl while playing in the probowl?
Sullivan is a second year Center that was asked to step into the middle of a veteran line, replace a future hall of famer in Matt Birk, and protect an aging (no offense to Favre) Superstar, on a team that expects to be playing for the Lombardi Trophy. The kid has handled himself well enough to deserve a Pro Bowl nod!!
Vote Al Harris #31 Pro Bowl 2010... Go Packers....
