Two days after Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu left the Steelers’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals with a knee injury, there’s no official word on the extent of his injury.
The good news is that Scott Brown of the Tribune-Review reports that Polamalu was at the Steelers’ facilities and walking without a limp on Monday.
The bad news is that Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Steelers likely will be without Polamalu on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, and possibly for one or two games beyond that.
Polamalu left the Bengals game after injuring his left knee — the same knee he injured in the Steelers’ season opener, which caused him to miss the next four games. So far the Steelers haven’t disclosed the results of Polamalu’s MRI, but Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will address reporters today.
Its going to be difficult for KC to score on offense with our without Troy.
The D has gone 10 straight quarters without allowing a touchdown.
I sure hope that this injury doesnt affect his endorsement deal with Head and Shoulders……hahahaha
He just left the game because he was tired of the Bengals beating the crap out of him.
No, just kidding, good to hear that it might not be that bad, hate to see a guy go down to injury.
He didnt really have a limp when he came off the field during the Bengals game so I don’t know why he would have a limp now.
@Kravon

Ya, that was all with Troy Polumalu in the lineup. Memory serves me (and since i have them in my fantasy i know), the Steelers defense has been good without Troy, but top 3 with him. They will still beat the Chiefs but not the Ravens, Colts, Bengals or Pats without him if they make the playoffs.
Rest him, if they can’t beat KC w/o him, they don’t deserve to win, let alone make the playoffs.
With Poluamlu or without him, it makes no difference.
The Steelers could beat the Chiefs with 22 guys off of the street.
dc-fan….
There is still 7 weeks until the playoffs. Barring any further injury we won’t have to worry about NOT having Troy for the playoffs. We can easily beat the Browns, Raiders, and KC without him. It would help a lot to have him for GB, but with the way their offensive line is playing our secondary might be able to take that week off and let the linebackers have at it. The only games we have left where I think having Troy may flat out change the outcome of the game is the Baltimore games and possibly Miami. Hopefully they do the smart thing, rest him the week for KC, and then evaluate the situation from there.
I would prefer they rest him as long as they can. He is a game-changer every time he plays. He is needed much more importantly for the playoffs, assuming we get there. Having this be a constant nagging thing will not be good for him or the team.
I agree, the Steelers should be able to get by without him with most of the remaining teams on their schedule, as long as the offense gets back on track and puts the ball in the endzone, which I believe they will.
GO STEELERS!
@ Vox’s Mommay
Thats what i mean. Rest Troy for a while so the Steelers can make a deep run in the playoffs. They should get there, since they got some easy games they should win while Troy Polamalu rests. But if he gets hurt again and is out for the season, well, ask the Bears how different their defense is with Urlacher and without…
Good for Steelers. They’ll need Troy down the stretch if they earn a wild card spot. Madden curse got him early. I think AFC North is pretty much in Bengals bag.
P.S. Big Ben is a good QB but in no way elite. I was at several Steelers game and he tends to miss a lot of open receivers. He also has to work on his passing form pocket. It’s good he won 2 SB but in my opinion his best performance ever was during the 3 playoff games in 2005. He choked in SB but he played exceptionally well in the 3 victories on 3 road games against very good teams leading to the SB. I doubt he’ll display a similar performance ever again. As he becomes older his scrambling will diminish and so will be his uniqueness.
“Troy Polamalu walking without a limp”
Players on the field don’t do a lot of walking during a football game.
Shame, he’s one of the few Stillers I like.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! Congratulations to Bill Cower’s Chin for submitting the stupidest post for this story.
No other submissions are necessary. Thank You.
@tk1966: You make the perfect point.
A whiner who calls himself “Bill Cowher’s Chin”, for whom we all know represents an perennial closet Bungles fan. I accept this is one of 2 years in the last 20 he’s had anything to come out of the closet to share … but the fact of the matter is it’s just a stupid ass comment. Has he looked around to see what Chad “I Love Myself” Johnson (aka Ocho lost my Cinco) does for endorsements in the Cincinnati area?
For others Steelers faithful (we are faithful year in and out, through the ups and downs unlike the Bungles fans), isn’t it interesting how the Cincinnati Enquirer lead story pri0r to this past Sunday’s game mentions the fact that all the Bengals ever want to be is the “Steelers”.
On the Mike and Mike show on Monday morning after the Bengals completed a rare sweep of a flat Steelers team on Sunday, Mike Ditka made the comment that the Bengals finally have figured out how to play “Stillers” football and that’s why they’re having success this season.
For other Bengals fans out there who continue to hide behind their “cute” blog names like Bill Cowher’s Chin, enjoy your success while it lasts. If your franchise remains true to itself, it will be fleeting. And, don’t forget we’re 15-6 vs Cincinnati over the past 10 years, 47-32 since the rivalry started in the 70s. Yes, you’ve wone two games this year against your hated rival or is it your utlimate envy (probably this vs latter).
When and if you beat Minnesota and San Diego on the road later this year, then you’ll be a clear force to be reckoned with (of course Minnesota may have nothing to play for …) at the top of the AFC.
Until then, please refrain from your hateful and stupid posts that continually remind the most loyal and faithful fan base in the NFL (Steeler Nation), that all you ever want to be when you grow up is just like the Steelers and our great fans.
Troy is HOT!!! we need him back ASAP!!!
