Dockett hits back at Mora

Seattle Seahawks coach Jim Mora said this week that he’s furious that Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle pressed his forearm into the throat of Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck in a pileup, and that the officials didn’t see it.

Dockett thinks Mora should lighten up.

After hearing what Mora said, Dockett went on Twitter and wrote, “Dear coach mora, its football s— happens if u ever played the game ud understand, really I would try to hurt matt. He’s a good guy.”

Nine minutes later Dockett got back on Twitter to clarify that when he wrote, “I would try to hurt,” he meant to write, “I wouldn’t try to hurt.”

Putting aside the issue of Dockett not knowing that Mora did, in fact, play football at the University of Washington, it’s hard to square Dockett’s claim that he wouldn’t try to hurt Hasselbeck with the video showing Dockett pressing his forearm into Hasselbeck’s throat. A fine is likely coming for Dockett, as the NFL office doesn’t generally accept “s— happens” as an excuse.

Seriously, why would he want to hurt Hasselbeck? He does a good enough job getting hurt on his own.

I thought it was an act by Hassleback. If I was Mora I would be furious that the team I am the head coach of lost a 14 point lead to the Cards and got blown out in the end. What a joke Mora is. Is coaching in the NFL about what you know or who your daddy coached with? Or is it who your buddy coaches for? I think there is alot of non-football people coaching in the NFL right now.

Dockett’s a cheap, dirty, player. He pulled crap like that at Florida State, too. There’s video of him grabbing a player’s leg and twisting it, intentionally tyring to injure his ankle or knee. Spurrier was furious but the officials didn’t notice and nobody ever did anything.

I think if I was playing against Seattle, I would try to not hurt Hasselbeck, taking him out lowers my odds of winning….

I think that Jim Mora does have no idea what is going on there is a difference between college and pro football and the video of him at florida state I know from experience that sometimes it takes more that just running into the guy when you wrap sometimes the only way to bring him down is if you wrap by his legs and flop and twist around until he falls this happens all the time I think the players should be able to take this it is the way the game is played. Darnell Dockett is also probably the best DT in the league and he is definetly a pro bowler he knows how to tackle and he is right stuff happens in a pile up.

Dead on — possibly cost the Gators a trip to the national championship that year. We played twice that season without Earnest Graham and lost them both. During the FSU game Dockett clearly was yanking on Graham’s already injured leg any chance he got – and long after the whistle was blown. It cost Graham the final game of the season (vs. Tennessee — game was postponed due to 9/11) and the Gators lost by 2. Dockett is and always has been a piece of shit.

Tommy you need to throw a few extra periods in your missive. It doesn’t cost anything extra to use a few punctuation marks and its makes it much easier to read.

It is a good thing Dockett was born big, fast and strong. I bet he reads at a 4th grade level, especially since he went to FSU.

I can’t stand Hasselback or the Seahawks but that seriously was pretty cheap. Play the game, don’t try to be cheap. Isn’t that right Harris, Dockett, etc.
    LMAO….losers

Didn’t Travis Stephens run for like 245 yards on the UF D that day? How many would he have rushed for if Ernest Graham had played?

All anyone needs to look at is video of Dockett trying to choke Clinton Portis last season to know that he’s a cheap player.

Completely true — defense sucked that day – only silver-lining was watching Tennessee choke away the SEC Championship and get stuck in the sugar bowl vs. Kurt Kitner’s fightin illini

Fine him all you want. Seattle is still out of the division race. Can’t change that with a fine.
