The doubled-fisted middle finger that Titans owner Bud Adams gave to the Bills on Sunday could end up being worth far more than the $250,000 that he will donate to the Human Fund.
Both for Adams and his 31 colleagues.

Great article Florio!
I wish Mike Brown would show some passion, for something, anything, or just show up! I would feel much more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt if I KNEW he was as big a fan as I am. I would love to own an NFL team. Maybe one day I will and flip off every team we play. Hell Id even suit up…well maybe not…
Didn’t the Commisioner say there are HIGH standards for NFL owners when they banned Rush Limbaugh from owning a team???
Wow even Mark Cuban thinks that fine is high.
Can you imagine the fine if Adams came out of his box and hit Suggs on a crackback block ?
Interesting take, Mike (though it’s always difficult for me to read anything past the phrase “uncapped year”). I shudder to think what Dan Snyder and Jerry Jones might devise to try and make average fans see them as “jus’ like us.” I’ve always felt an affinity with the Rooneys and one of the Steelers’ new minority owners has a fan backstory similar to mine. Even so … this is management vs. labor. Wall Street vs. Main Street. The NFL may be dealing with a lot more zeros before the decimal than I’ll ever see on a check, but no matter how much PR the owners use, I still know which side of the divide is home.
I have to say- little substance and almost all speculation. This style is becoming a Florio/PFT special- another article deep in speculation and short on facts. And amazingly- the title of the report is addressed in only the last sentence. A headline to grab your attention and when you get there- nothing of substance. Sounds like a filler article, again.
It is not inspiring to see a multi-millionaire owner acting like the worst of the drunken fans. So basically we are supposed to be inspired by rich guy so inarticulate he has to resort to the middle finger. Thanks Florio.
People do care about the future of the NFL. But the problem is still in the future and most refuse to panic right now.
well bud must have some emotional attachment – he has owned that team for 50 years.
he should have flipped off the media. the media pretends to be unbiased, but it isnt.
Good article, pretty interesting idea. I think most people found it funny and endearing like you say. on the other hand there are uptight snobs like zombierevolution who can’t see the fun or function of giving a finger (does everything have to be “articulate”?). But overall I think most people will agree with your idea Florio.
