On Sunday, the Chargers and the Broncos get together again.
Since their last meeting, the Chargers haven’t lost a game — and the Broncos haven’t won one.
As the two teams prepare for the second half of their home-and-home series, two key members of the Denver offense missed practice on Wednesday.
Quarterback Kyle Orton’s left ankle injury, suffered in Week Ten against the Redskins, kept him from playing on Sunday. Ditto for receiver Brandon Marshall, who has a neck injury.
It’s unknown whether either will play this weekend.
“I came back last year as soon as I could and I’ll do the same thing this year,” Orton said per the AP on Wednesday, who sprained his right ankle in November 2008.
The Broncos surely are hoping that’s the case, given the manner in which Chris Simms played in relief of Orton.
Also missing practice Wednesday for the Broncos were safety Josh Barrett (hamstring), tackle Ryan Harris (toe), running back LaMont Jordan (back), and running back Correll Buckhalter (knee).
given the manner in which he and the bears after he came back maybe bronco fans should hope he waits awhile before he comes back. I don’t hate him but bronco fans are making him out to be more than he is which is an average nfl qb at best, just like he was the bears so deal with it!
actually, orton’s very good when he’s running the type of offense he ran at purdue, and it’s the kind he’s running in denver.
just look at his stats, it’s a game managing qbs wet dream.
that’s what he is…a solid game manager, when put in a good offense.
we all know chicago = death for qbs, no wonder he struggled in that hell hole, most qbs do, yet he still had a great w/l record there.
and i preface all of the above comments by saying i am neither a purdue or denver fan, just a charger fan who does his research
Charger players need to stop over reacting so much when they make a decent play. Merriman does the stupid dance when he has barely made a sack in like forever.
Also, i see you lame Charger fans at Invesco feeling yourselves talking smack like always. Question: Which AFC West team has yet to win a Super Bowl?
Answer: The over rated, over hyped, over celebratory Chagers. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. I wonder if L.T.’s baby will cry half as much as he does? (waaaa waaaaa waaaaa)
