Antonio Pierce out indefinitely

The New York Giants are on a four-game losing streak, and now they've been dealt another blow.

Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce was diagnosed with a bulging disc in his neck this afternoon and is out indefinitely, the team announced today.

"I'm shocked with what I heard from the doctors this afternoon," Pierce said in a statement, via Pat Hanlon on Twitter. "[I] had no idea what happened a few weeks ago could keep me off the field."

Pierce has started all nine games for the Giants this year.

haha so much for a "giant" turnaround. theyre done, and its about time change swept through.

matter of fact, thats happening in washington, soon to be philadelphia, and should be new york. either dallas steps up or the nfc east becomes last years nfc west.

He has been part of the problem. His weight is catching up to him as you get older you need to be in better shape physically to keep on playing at a high level. I think hes played his last snap for the GMen

Doctors say the injury might be related to carrying firearms use to commit felonys.

How can any knowledgeable Giant fan say "season" is over..He's fat, slow, annoying and the game is faster than him. In fact i was saying this afternoon, this is the first time the whole team is healthy all season, now we need pierce to get indicted in the burress case, replace him and well be set..this is truly a blessing. Lets get some more speed out there. now with boley, clark, kehl and sintim rotating with a lil blackburn they are much improved.

The bulging disks are a result of the giant fork stuck in his back.

On the human side of this, Get well AP.

On the football side it's addition by subtraction.
He can't cover anyone in the passing game, he cant shed a blocker, and he is really in position to make a play. This will be the easiest transition to a new MLB than if he was healthy. Maybe now Sheridan will start to play an aggressive D.

Haters yes the best team in the east is having a tough year but if any of you would like maybe you can stop by and see what a Championship Trophy looks like

I mean one that was won since you have been alive not the history chanel cowboys and skins

And for those of you in Philly just stay in philly

Well it looks like a new destination is emerging for the unprecedented stock of good coaches looking for work. If NYG miss the playoffs or fall in the first round, Coughlin is gone.

Why is it that Giants fans always want to live in the past when the team is doing poorly. Hey no one really cares. Football is about the next game and THIS season not some trophy a team won a few years ago. I hate those douches who do that.

"Haters yes the best team in the east is having a tough year"

Naah, just a four game losing streak. The Giants may not be the best team in NY, much less the NFCE.

"if any of you would like maybe you can stop by and see what a Championship Trophy looks like"

They all look the same. If you want to see what five of them look like grouped together there's only one NFCE team that can show you that.

No need to go ther Bigbluefan. Stuff like that should be left to eagles fans. You're bringin us down to their level.

As for AP. I've never really liked him, but his ability to QB a defense will be hard to replace. Hopefully one of the kids replacing him will surprise us.

"yes, the best team in the east"
"stop by and see what a championship trophy looks like"

GIANT UPSET!!! no wait that was when the eagles demolished them this year. GIANT FLUKE was when eli manning panicked and hurled the ball up and clearly your best wr caught it. nobody can say the giants won that because they were the better of the two, because it obviously isnt true. the giants are far from an elite team because elite teams need elite qbs.

same reason why the eagles arent an elite team anymore. mcnabb needs to go. so now what are you gonna do that i took your only comeback

Coughlin and the front office know what they are doing. Sintim is about to take over for Clark, and now Pierce is out. Our LB's have been weak all year, so this is going to be a plus. If Ross comes back, we should move Thomas to safety. This will complete the transition to a younger, more mobile defense.

@jkorn1818 when they won the division about 5 years strait and went to the superbowl and have had one of the best defenses in the nfl for nearly a decade now
