Conflicting reports on Albert Haynesworth

Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is struggling with an ankle injury, and there are conflicting reports about whether he’s healthy enough to play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Scott Noll of ESPNDallas.com, citing comments that Redskins secondary coach Jerry Gray made Friday on Michael Irvin’s radio show, reports that Haynesworth will play against the Cowboys.

But on the 2 p.m. Eastern broadcast of SportsCenter, ESPN reported that Haynesworth is unlikely to play because of his ankle injury.

Jason Reid of the Washington Post, meanwhile, reports that Redskins coach Jim Zorn said of Haynesworth’s status, “I do believe that’s going to be a game-time situation.”

So despite the two ESPN reports, we don’t know whether Haynesworth is playing or not. And we probably won’t until Sunday.

I think with Haynsworth it would be a “cankle” injury.

    Oh ok.

What does it matter? This guy is a fat out of shape lard that comes out every other play either for oxygen or an injury. Biggest waste of money ever.

I’M SURE HE’LL BE FACE STOMPING MAD IF HE DOESN’T GET TO PLAY

I’ll bet they regret that $41mil guaranteed now

It should be a game time decision to let Zorn coach….lol

Well worth the money hey. I remember all the Redskins fans before the season talking about Superbowls, etc because of getting such a dominating force on defense. hahaha He’s not even the best player on your own defense.
He had one good season in his career and the Redskins threw this clown $100 million. WOW!!!
He’s not even in the top 10 defensive tackles.
See how good he is without people like he had in Tennessee? And people say he made them look good. I think it was the opposite. They made him look good. Hell, I’d even take Shaun Rogers over him and he gets tired after 10 plays. But at least he can block kicks so he’s better. LOL

And that, dear friends, is why Tennessee did not meet the offer that the Redskins made.

That’s outstanding. Romo has been kind enough to begin his late season suckfest early, and the guy brought in to amplify qb pressure and shut down the run ain’t 100%. Nice to know Weird Al would have 100% something to say if he was pissed off enough. Guess 41 mil buys the talk, not the walk.
Side note thanks to Zorn for advising Haynesworth will be a “game time situtation”, of which Zorn will likely have no real input.

Isn’t that a shock? Another fat, lazy primadonna that gets his guaranteed money and then mails it in.

Another solid football move by the pocket billionaire that is Danny Snyder.

    simple_simon1 ….
Are you on crack? Yes hes a fatty but the redskins sack total RIGHT NOW is higher than it was all of last season. Whether he is good or not he still gets double teamed allowing our D ends to get free. 41 mil to get single coverage on the outside, worth it.

yea, because Tennessee’s defense is sick right now…..bahaha.

Haynesworth is worth it. The money doesn’t matter to the franchise so why should it matter as a fan. Chris Canty was the only other DT worth getting and he has 2 tackles. Sure you can talk in hindsight but now you should be quiet. It also doesn’t help that until last week the defense is on the field 2/3 of the game.

Redskins coach Jim Zorn said of Haynesworth’s status, “I do believe that’s going to be a game-time situation.”
Translation: We’re waiting for his new cleats to arrive.

You all need to know your football, he’s actually having a good season as a skin barely playing because everybody else is stepping up with him getting guarded by 2 guys.. Fletcher having a career year, Orakpo as one of the top Rookie defensive players.. so yes he was overpaid.. but yes he has proven to an asset to the team.

  18. Vince says: Nov 20, 2009 3:59 PM

    And I met Carter

  19. TitanPride says: Nov 20, 2009 3:59 PM

Lol, hey deadskins, is he worth it? Of course not. He’s paid. Two good seasons chasing a paycheck and then easy street. What a 100 million dollar joke. Good thing the skins win the superbowl of free agents every year because the season goes downhill after that.

ibanez570x…. don’t try to reason rationale football with these clowns… they don’t understand what Albert brings to the team. He collapses the pocket, he opens up the D-ends. Trust me he’s worth the money.
The rest of your team sucks a.ss. Not even Haynesworth can make you guys look better.

  23. chunky soupy sales says: Nov 20, 2009 4:24 PM

“If Albert doesn’t play, Cowboys win big!”
The game where he stomped Gurode’s head, as a Titan,he played and the Cowboys won big.
Haynesworth doesn’t matter. When the Skins and Cowboys play, everything goes out the window. No matter the injuries or records, no one can predict a game between these two teams. Albert has nothing to do with it.

  24. knot4u1 says: Nov 20, 2009 4:57 PM

Everyone who says that signing Haynesworth obviously hasn’t watched the Skins this year. As an interior d-line man he isn’t supposed to have 12 sacks a year. His purpose is to collapse the pocket, create one on one matchups on the outside, and force RBs outside. When he is on the field, he produces. Look at Andre Carter, 8.0 sacks, one his best years in a long time. Brian Orakpo, 7.0 sacks, Redskins rookie record. Haynesworth, 3.0 sacks respectfully, 27 tackles, which is more tackles than Joey Porter, Osi Umenyiora, and Dwight Freeney just to name a few. So for those that say he doesn’t produce watch a game first then come back. However, he could stay in better shape and better health.

  25. ibanez570x says: Nov 20, 2009 4:59 PM

    SFTitan..
Yea I am starting to get that lol…
Also to everyone saying hes been “paid”.. 100 mill is if he hits EVERY bonus. Only 41 mill is for sure for him. While I would appreciate that kind of money, I think playing hard for 59 mill in bonuses is likely worth it…

  26. zoinks says: Nov 20, 2009 5:31 PM

Haynesworth is good for 12-14 games per year.
Welcome to the other 2-4 games.

100% correct. As a longtime Dallas fan, even in the games where we feel like our teams should win with ease, you just can’t tell what will happen. There are the games where Moss scored two touchdowns in the final 4 minutes to steal the win, and there are games where Aikman threw for three touchdowns in the final 11 minutes to come out with a 41-35 win.
