Four players fined in Bears-49ers game

Many fans found last Thursday’s Bears-49ers turnover-fest an ugly game to watch. Apparently the NFL’s fine police agreed.

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that four players were fined for violations during the game.

Players fined $5,000 apiece were Bears right tackle Chris Williams for a late hit, 49ers tight end Delanie Walker for kicking an opponent, 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown for taunting and 49ers wide receiver Arnaz Battle for facemasking.

Despite his five-interception game, Jay Cutler was not fined for impersonating a professional quarterback.

Corporate Coach Mike Singletary has the Whiners playing well. The didn’t win the Bears game they were given a gift from Cutler and still couldn’t “destroy them.” Vernon Davis is VD.

They consider what brown did as taunting, WOOOOWWWWW, what is the league becoming…go ahead and get the surgery already Roger, it’s clear now that you have become the bytch to certain teams and owners

$5k fine for taunting?? What’s next, $2,500 for offsides? The NFL is getting out of control with doling out the fines every week. You can’t touch a QB, they’re talking about putting helmets on refs, and now you can get fined for taunting. Ridiculous.

Makes no sense. If he had imitated a professional QB he wouldn’t have thrown 5 picks.

Nice Cutler line MDS. After reading that I had to double check the byline. Sounds like a classic Florio line.
    Nevertheless very funny.

Is this a practical joke? $5,000 for a bogus taunting call and an accidental face mask!? The kicking and late hit I can understand. Man Roger GODell is turning this league into a joke. Next there will be an ATTEMPTED MURDER flag anytime someone gets within 5 yds of Brady. Then it will shortly follow as the National Flag Football League. Man somebody needs to run this idiot and his cronies out of town!
