In comes Orton

With the Chargers building an early 13-point lead and Broncos quarterback Chris Simms looking not so sharp, Simms has been yanked, and Kyle Orton has been inserted into the game, ankle injury notwithstanding.

If the move smacks of desperation, it should.  The Broncos need this game badly, and it’s already slipping away.

And the decision paid off quickly, with Orton taking the Broncos right down the field, via a 22-yard completion to Brandon Marshall and a 38-yard gain to Jabar Gaffney.

But the drive sputtered when running back Knowshon Moreno coughed the ball up at the goal line, to be recovered in the end zone by the Chargers.  Denver coach Josh McDaniels pitched the red handkerchief, and the play was upheld via replay review.

It was always silly to me that they were going to start Simms even though Orton was active. If Orton can play, then he should play. The Broncos are fighting for the playoffs.. it’s not like they’re the Colts or the Saints who have practically clinched and can afford to drop a few games.

so how is it possible for it to not be a touchdown when the ball was knocked out by a denver players knee, and that knee just so happened to be in the endzone?
the ball would have to cross the plane in order to get knocked out. do the refs not use logic and their eyes when doing a review?

Because, the ref isnt Ed Hocholi

exactly something a san diego homer would say.
no arguement, just spew out dumb sh** to make yourself feel better.
still doesnt change the fact that the ball had to cross the plane before it could have been knocked out.

Whether that play was a TD or a fumble it had no impact on the outcome of the game.
