In a game the Giants desperately needed to win Sunday, Brandon Jacobs took his last carry late in the third quarter because of a knee injury.
Jacobs claimed after the contest that he could have returned, but the Giants didn’t use him in their final three drives. That indicates the team felt differently.
The Giants have a short turnaround this week, traveling to Denver for a Thanksgiving night game of 6-4 teams that were both once 5-0.
They probably wanted to play it safe, since Thursday night will be won in the trenches and on defense. The passing game was getting it done, so why risk Jacobs’ health right before needing him on Thursday?
Or it indicated that they were having success with the pass and with the short turn around why risk further injury when you have Bradshaw and Ware.
…that’s what I said.
Trip to Denver doesn’t look so bad anymore.
Too bad the idiots at the NFL decided to show it on NFL network where no one will watch it.
Or it could have just meant that the passing game was working really well so why go back to the run. Besides they have capable backups so why rush him back in. Why doesn’t anyone bring these points up?
Jacobs could have returned, but the guy just hasn’t been as productive as he was the last couple of years. Yeah, the Giants won on Sunday, but to paraphrase what Gregg Rosenthal said in a recent post, their defense is not very impressive and doesn’t look like it’s improving. Geeze, Jets and Giants are a two tales of one city. That’s all I gotta say http://tiny.cc/A9zcL

how comne jacobs bever gets ‘low’ when he goes to truck someone?
and for christs sake stop using shotgun 50% of the time Killbride.
on another note, why doesnt the giants defense BUMP THE WR’s more often? watch how many free releases the opposing teams wrs get on us. it feels like pre-spags when Tim lewis was our d-coordinator
FIRE BILL SHERIDAN!!!
Who needs Brandon Jacobs, when you have Danny Ware?!?!?!?!
Wow, this Giants D looks more like it grades out as an “F”. Is Bozo the Clown calling the defensive signals late in the fourth quarter? Sheesh. And by all means let’s put Justin Tuck into pass coverage even more often.
At least the haters can shut up about Eli for a minute, because he’s keeping them in games despite a running game that hasn’t been consistent and an O-line that hasn’t been as dominant.
