Report: No Michael Turner for Falcons

Rachel Nichols of ESPN is reporting, via a Falcons source, that running back Michael Turner won’t be in the lineup against the Giants on Sunday afternoon.

The news isn’t particularly surprising. Turner was listed as doubtful after suffering a high ankle sprain against the Panthers last weekend and missing practice all week. Per Nichols, Jason Snelling will get the start in place of Turner.

Jerious Norwood’s status is less clear at this time. The running back has missed the last four games with an injured hip and is listed as questionable. D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal Constitution tweeted that he’ll be inactive, but hasn’t been able to confirm the news.

We’ll have all the inactives for the Falcons and Giants when they are officially announced.

UPDATE: Nichols is now reporting that Norwood is out as well.
