Sometimes the inactive lists for NFL games contain a surprising name or two and sometimes they allow us to find out the status of a player we’ve wondered about all week.
And sometimes they contain none of the above. That’s the case with the Steelers and Chiefs where we already knew the biggest names on each side.
Joining safety Troy Polamalu and defensive end Travis Kirschke on the sidelines for the Steelers will be running back Carey Davis, defensive tackle Sunny Harris, tackle Tony Hills, wide receiver Shaun McDonald and guard Kraig Urbik. Dennis Dixon is the third quarterback.
Linebacker Mike Vrabel is the biggest name on a Chiefs inactive list that also features guard Andy Alleman, linebacker David Herron, tight end Jake O’Connell, linebacker Justin Rogers, running back Dantrell Savage and cornerback Donald Washington. Matt Gutierrez draws third quarterback duties for Kansas City.
