Chargers-Broncos one-liners

Chargers TE Antonio Gates said that the 32-3 rout of the Broncos re-established his team as the best of the AFC West.

The Chargers offensive line paved the way to 203 rushing yards and kept QB Philip Rivers from getting touched more than once.

Chargers S Steve Gregory recovered two fumbles, including one in the Chargers end zone.

Said Chargers LB Stephen Cooper, “We were physical today and a lot of guys stepped up and made big plays. We just continue to get better on defense and it’s a lot of fun to be a part of.”

Don Banks of SI.com writes that Sunday’s game makes clear how quickly the Chargers have left the Broncos behind in the AFC West.

After seven straight running plays to open the game, Broncos QB Chris Simms fumbled while being sacked on his first pass attempt.

Frank Schwab of the Colorado Springs Gazette wonders why Broncos coach Josh McDaniels started Simms if he was willing to risk further injury to Kyle Orton.

A Broncos offensive lineman’s knee caused a fumble by RB Knowshon Moreno and halted momentum on Orton’s first drive.

There weren’t many Broncos fans left in the stands for the end of Sunday’s game.

Nine penalties contributed to the poor showing by the Broncos.

Who knew when Pat Bowlen hired Josh McDaniels last yeat that McDaniels was such a defensive genius?
In 10 short games McDaniels has taken two of the best Wide Receivers of last year and made them mediocre.
As someone once said of Dean Smith, “He was the only person abe to hold Michael Jordan to under 20 points a game”.

The Chargers won, to bad there was a controversial TD that got ruled a fumble. Enjoy the 1 game lead Dolts, you’ll choke in the coming weeks.

Bonger are you kidding, it would of been 13-7, McDaniels wouldn’t of went for the on side kick. Also, different play calling for different situations ie your play calling is different if your ahead, tied, or behind.
Pdxbolt 6 games left and what about them Chiefs? Beating the Steelers

The Chief game is a big potential letdown game for SD…people talk about how weak the AFC WEST is but the raiders beat both philly and cinci…chiefs beat the steelers…nothing is certain on sundays…thats why you play the game…that being said I think SD is playing pretty good ball right now…could be better obviously but can’t look past anybody!! I mean who had the whole afc north getting beat last week?? NO ONE!!
