Ravens lose Fabian Washington

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Fabian Washington is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in Sunday’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

It looks like he has an ACL tear,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. “We’ll find out later today. Maybe the MRI will come back and tell us something different, but as of right now, we’re proceeding as if he’ll be done for the season.”

The 26-year-old Washington has started all 10 games for the Ravens this season.
Although Harbaugh wouldn’t say who will start in Washington’s place, it will likely be rookie Lardarius Webb, the Ravens’ third-round daft pick.

“Lardarius is going to be a big part of the plans,” Harbaugh said.

This is definitely a problem, but unlike in prior years, the starting corners aren’t a million times better than the backups so the drop off won’t be as significant.

Addition by subtraction. Ravens should have put this guy on the bench 6 weeks ago.

Looks like another 400 yard passing game for Ben and a win for the Stillers.
BTW, is McGayhee awake yet, or is he still sleeping?

Webb has played better than Washington anyway. I say this is not such a bad thing. It hurts depth, but if gives Webb a chance to really show what he can do.

I saw the reply and knees are definitely not supposed to bend the way his did. I hope he is okay and has some good years ahead of him.

Was he actually covering anyone anyway?

Gee………I was hoping Foxworth(less) would be the one to go……….darn!

Good! he cant cover, catch or tackle worth shit. besides Webb is better anyway. Finally he’ll be given a legit chance to show how good he really is.

Wait everyone…katmanshit has spoken..the Ravens should not even show up Sunday night because ben is going to throw for 400 yards…
Good thing you clarified a “win”. Since you know ben threw for almost that yesterday and lost to the chiefs……..
katman..you asked about McGahee sleeping?? it looked to me like ben was sleeping yesterday on the field in OT…..
Truth is..I was concerned about playing the steelers with our secondary and the year ben is having passing. But I was encouraged by our defense as of late and yesterday with holding Manning to only 14 points….so we will see what happens Sunday night…I am not sure the steelers secondary is any better than ours…with or without troy.

‘Lard-arius’… sounds like a nose tackle name.

MattS is correct! Really do not want 2 c anyone get hurt but the last couple of weeks WEBB has been the best DB on the team! He’s been defending and tackling better than anyone else. Now, find someone 2 replace Landry and if Reed is hurt and won’t tackle put him on the sidelines too!

    Fellow Ravens fans….
I realize why you think this is good because Webb is better than Washington, but now Chris Carr is gonna get more time!!!!!!!!!! That’s waaaaaay worse than Washington being on the field.
    Washington>Carr
Carr is our new Frank Walker, but WORSE. Big Ben is gonna tear him apart all day!!!!!

Webb is definitely an upgrade….and I’m tired of watching Fabian run his hands back and forth across his facemask when he makes his one decent play a game….

This past weeks debacle in the AFC North makes this game a tremendous match up.
Injuries are a killer for some teams, however, it gives some young players some great playing time and good experience, we will see which reserves play better. The problem for the Steelers is they look very vulnerable without Troy. The Ravens on the other hand looked like losing suggs was not that bad. Now losing a starting corner has not boded well for them in the past even if their corners are suspect. That said I see a tightly contested low scoring game with the team that does not turn the ball over winning by a field goal.
This division is up in the air, I do not care what the bengals have to say about it, they are just as capable as anyone else in the division to blow games they should win IE. Texans, Raiders….similar losses to the Steelers blowing games against Chiefs and Bears. The Ravens actually have the best losing resume (if that makes sense). All of the losses to the top 3 teams in the division were very close games despite the opponents.
Having said that, I am very excited to watch the 2 hardest hitting teams in the NFL duke it out on Sunday night!
As a Steelers fan I hate but respect the Ravens, they are the best 5-5 team in the NFL. These 2 teams might be their own worst enemies, if they split their 2 game series, I dont see either of them making the playoffs, however if 1 team gets a sweep……the chances of that team going to the playoffs is really good given the teams that are in the race. The Dolphins, Jags, Texans, and Broncos all have a much harder road to the playoffs given the remaining schedules….but then again the steelers did lose to the F-ing Cheifs
Good luck Ravens fans, I hope we see a thriller….hopefully Dennis Dixon does not have to start his first game in the NFL against the Ravens or everything I have said here means nothing.

    Tleg…nicely said…..
I love Ravens/Steelers games!!!! This by far is THE GREATEST RIVALRY in football!!! Others try to claim they are the best but do not be fooled by imitators!!
Like I said earlier…ben is having a great year in the air and we have definitely struggling in our secondary. I only hope our defense does not allow him to go wild….
I am fortunate enough to have tickets for this one and I cannot wait!!

webb is way better than washington anyways. and now he can prove it.

The built-in excuse the Ravens will use after this weeks game with the Steelers.
