The New Orleans Saints are collecting veteran cornerbacks.
Last week the Saints signed cornerback Chris McAlister, and today Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Saints are planning to sign cornerback Mike McKenzie.
McKenzie was a Saint from 2004 to 2008. He played seven games for the Saints last season, starting six, before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
The 10-0 Saints have had major injury problems in their secondary. They’re going to need that secondary to be ready to play next Monday night, when they take on the New England Patriots in the toughest game left on their 2009 schedule.
The Packers should definitely make a run at McKenzie. The original “Predator!”
welcome home, Predator!!
I feel bad for whoever thinks McKenzie will be able to cover any of the Patriots WRs. I hope he’s covering someone slow and terrible… like Laurence Maroney.
i feel bad for anyone who thinks McKenzie is being brought in to be a starter…
I wonder if that means last week’s signing is not going too well? Worse than that, I wonder if it means that Jabari will not be available this week?
Hard to make the need for this signing a good thing…no matter how you slice it.
What was that you were saying about McKenzie?
