Warner says he has no concussion problem

Concussions are a serious problem facing the NFL, but Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner insists they're not a problem for him.

Warner was removed from Sunday's game after suffering an apparent concussion, but after the game, Warner wouldn't even allow a reporter to finish the question when asked about his previous head injuries.

"Easy now, easy," Warner said, per Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic. "They were a long time ago. I've had a couple minor concussions. Nothing that has been prolonged. Haven't had anything in a number of years."

Some medical experts say there's really no such thing as a "minor concussion," but Warner says he has nothing to worry about on that front. According to Warner, his last concussion was six years ago, and he fully expects to play in the Cardinals' next game. And he said sitting out the second half in the win over the Rams was just a matter of being cautious.

"We were smart with it; we didn't take any chances," Warner said. "I feel good. I think I'm going be just fine, but we'll take it day by day."

So does this injury qualify for the NFLs' new rule about every player with a concussion needing to be cleared by an independent neurologist before he can be cleared to play again?
I can't argue with the new rule, but who decides if a player's "injury" warrants its' application?

You should read your pal Peter King's article MMQB. He discusses the situation. Warner was not 'removed' from the game, he pulled himself out.

I think Warner's first concussion was when his wife first came home with the short spiky haircut that made her look like Ivan Drago.

When he pulled himself off the floor, he was again quoted as saying "easy, now easy"

"I think Warner's first concussion was when his wife first came home with the short spiky haircut that made her look like Ivan Drago." -- WIN

"When he pulled himself off the floor, he was again quoted as saying "easy, now easy" -- FAIL

Let's hope Kurt is OK...we have all seen that after 3.5 years, Leinart is in no shape to lead this team.

Also, only read KissingSuzyKolber's recap/highlights of Peter King's MMQB, makes it much more palatable.

KPHO TV reported in the noon news that Warner would undergo neurological testing before being allowed to practice.
