Kurt Warner practices, plans to play

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner practiced today and said he plans to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, despite being sidelined with a concussion in last week’s win over the Rams.

Warner was hurt when his head hit the ground after Rams safety O.J. Atogwe drilled him.
The Cardinals haven’t given much information about the extent of Warner’s injury, but Warner said today that he passed the necessary mental tests yesterday to get cleared to play.

Although Warner started to develop a reputation for being injury prone a few years ago, Warner has insisted that he doesn’t have a problem with concussions. And he’s managed to stay healthy in recent years; Sunday’s game will be his 42nd consecutive start.

For the Cardinals, having Warner in the lineup is essential: At age 38 he’s having another big season, with a quarterback rating of 94.4. Matt Leinart, on the other hand, has seen limited action in relief of Warner and compiled a quarterback rating of just 61.9.

Warner got a lttle shook up but I don’t believe he had any type of concussion….he acted & looked fine after unlike Big Ben who actually did have his bell rung big time!!!

He did not have a concussion. This is a florio spin (via Smith) to get that phrase out there.

No dont start Fitz because Warner’s going to throw 5 picks this week by the end of the 3rd quarter.

Whisenhunt has admitted he had the handcuffs on Leinart when he was in the game. Leinarts mission was not to win the game but to preserve the win. Since the cardinals did win I’d say leinart did a good job.

Great time to get Leinart some pre-playoff playing time . Leinart is the QB of the future and the future could be now . The Cardinals are in a weak division and are a sure thing to win the West . Leinart has the stuff and the Cardinals are paying him major dollars . Time to produce big time or expect a trade this summer. This could be Warners last hurrah and a season ending injury prior to the playoffs is not out of the question . Go with Leinart !
