The usually loquacious Chad Ochocinco was far more restrained during a Wednesday conference call with the Cleveland media in advance of Sunday’s game against the Browns.
But while he provided no overt entertainment — but for a subtle yawn at one point in the discussion and a one-word response to one of the questions he was asked — the substance of some of his words left us scratching our heads.
Asked whether he knew that the Bengals would be good even before the season started, Ochocinco had this to say: “I just had that feeling. . . . Usually early in the spring you’re not in pads, but i just had a feeling about the way things looked offensively, the way things looked defensively that this year was gonna be successful. And, you know, I was always right.”
Um, Chad? Early in the spring you weren’t even there.
At the risk of being labeled a “hater” by Chad (again), the truth is that he didn’t show up until shortly before the offseason workouts ended.
In late March, when Chad hadn’t shown up for offseason workouts even though he said he’d be there, quarterback Carson Palmer said, “I’m not worried about him, I’m worried about the guys we have here. The guys that want to be here and want to work hard are
the guys that are here now and here this [offseason] and I don’t worry
about anyone else.”
Nearly two months later, Palmer hadn’t seen or heard from Ochocinco.
“I haven’t talked to him,” Palmer told Sirius NFL Radio. “I haven’t talked to anybody that has talked to him. He wasn’t here
last year so I’m expecting him not to be here at all this year. Last
year I think he was here for the mandatory camp but didn’t participate
in it. So I’m planning on him not being here just because he hasn’t
been here yet so we’ll prepare.”
In June, after an offseason spent boxing, Chad finally showed up.
And while he got a glimpse of the underwear workouts, that’s a far cry from the level of involvement that Chad wants us all to think he displayed.
Look, we like the guy. He’s good for the game, for the most part, But we’ve got to call B.S. when we see (or smell) B.S. And, in this specific case, the “C” in “OCNN” stands for caa-caa.
Chad is the BS master.
He has no filter- he just spews verbal diahrea all the time.
The fans love it though!
Practice? The dude was writing a book, and starting his post-career marketing campaign. You can’t do two things at the same time!
Besides, how did you expect him to answer?
“Well, I dunno cause I wasn’t there. But I heard everyone looked sharp!”
The league needs more guys like Chad, guys that have a good time while playing.
Can you say Ocho -Douchebag.
Maybe he should focus on paying for all the kids he has fathered that are wondering who’s my daddy?
And, in this specific case, the “C” in “OCNN” stands for caa-caa.
really florio? really?
he’s in his 30′s, has been on the team forever. who cares if he isn’t at the workouts. he’s in shape, knows the playbook, knows his QB.
I thought The “C” in OCNN stood for cinco. (Says Captain obvious)
“And, in this specific case, the “C” in “OCNN” stands for caa-caa.”
In this specific case, PFT stands for “Pathetic Florio Tomfoolery.”
here we go, this hatin’ ass florio keep on talkin about ocho. like he hasnt backed up all of his shit talking through out the years… keep talking that shit florio, they’re two games up on your beloved shittsburgh.
Mike Florio said:
“But we’ve got to call B.S. when we see (or smell) B.S. And, in this specific case, the “C” in “OCNN” stands for caa-caa.”
It’s caca, Florio. No hyphen…
I think most players have a feeling this might be a good year, roughly half are right.
This was relevant in the spring but to you it’s relevant now since you’re a steelers fan.
Bummer, florio
ochocinco knows it all.
This headline proves Chad is a douche, or at least a windbag.
Child, please.
