Stafford officially doubtful for Thursday

It’s looking less and less likely that Matthew Stafford will get the chance to play through pain for a second straight week.

Stafford was officially listed as doubtful Wednesday for Detroit’s annual Thanksgiving game, so Daunte Culpepper is very likely to start against the Packers.  Stafford has a separated left (non-throwing) shoulder.

America could be treated to a Culpepper-to-Northcutt connection if top receiver Calvin Johnson also misses the game.  Megatron is officially questionable with hand and knee injuries.  Defensive end Dewayne White (toe) is also doubtful. Safety Louis Delmas (ankle) and guard Daniel Loper (back) are also questionable.

For the Packers, starting center Scott Wells returned to practice Wednesday and is listed as probable, like eight of his teammates.  Ahman Green is doubtful, so Brandon Jackson should get plenty of work behind Ryan Grant.

We hope not to see too much of Jackson, because that will mean a blowout is occuring.

Maybe Culpepper can treat us all to a Thanksgiving miracle instead.

Matt Stafford is a TRUE warrior, the Lions need to build that team around him.

So Gregg Rosenthal is also pulling for the Lions. Welcome to the dark side.

I think America will be treated with a Culpepper-to-Packers Secondary connection. Believe me I’ve witnessed it plenty of times.

Why is megatron always on the injury list.
He may be big and fast but he can’t stay healthy.
The lions future will never be built around these two they can’t stay on the field.

I wish you were wrong Vikes#28Owns, but I think you ,might not be.
I was looking so forward to seeing Stafford to CJ on Thanksgiving. With Pulpecker in there, they don’t have a chance I think.
I’ll still be cheering hard for my team no matter what but it could be a long day without Stafford.

You’re right. But he has a rookie QB throwing the ball and he takes a lot of shots because of it. I don’t think he’s been 100% all year either. If you never properly heal, it’s harder to stay healthy.
As soon as there are other players to take a little pressure off him, he won’t take big hits as often because he’ll have more space. Then people will see what he can really do.

    Um, no.

Ok Boys and Girls…You just need to go into the “WayBack” machine and try and remember a pic on this site. The Pic in question shows Culpecker’s Jersey stating “He Fumbles”. Can’t wait for the LardAss turnover machine to take a snap. No matter who would start, The Pack should be 7-4 at 3:30 PM EST.

If Stafford and Johnson are out, what a bullet the Pack dodged. Sorta sucks, would like to see them play the Pack. A Daunte win would be worth watching though, go getem tiny hands!

Why does it seem that every time Matthew Stafford can’t play, Calvin Johnson can’t play also. Does he have something against Culpepper?

Even as a Pack fan, I don’t want to see Culpepper. Snooze fest, and it isn’t even before dinner, so I can’t blame the food coma when I pass out.
Hope Stafford recovers soon. He shows a lot of promise. Unlike the rivalries with the Bears or the Vikings, I just cannot bring myself to hate the Lions, and really want to see them improve.
