Steelers will kick tires on Patrick Ramsey, Todd Bouman

In August 2008, Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch suffered a broken collarbone.  Shortly thereafter, the team brought in quarterbacks Byron Leftwich and Daunte Culpepper for workouts.  Leftwich ultimately was signed.

This year, Batch suffered a wrist injury while replacing Ben Roethlisberger during overtime against the Chiefs on Sunday.  With Tyler Palko officially added to the practice squad, two veteran quarterbacks will spend Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh, trying out for possible spots on the roster behind Roethlisberger and new backup Dennis Dixon.

Per FOX’s Jay Glazer, the candidates are Patrick Ramsey and Todd Bouman.

Glazer also reports that, while Roethlisberger has passed all tests in connection with his latest case of bumpus-on-the-nogginus, Dixon will be taking increased reps with the offense in advance of Sunday night’s game against the Ravens.

Things going bad to worse for the Squeelers.
Wouldn’t be surprised to hear the Ravens having a “reward” for whoever gives BigBen another “case of bumpus-on-the-nogginus.”
Curious if the Squeelers miss the playoffs if the calls for Cowher to return might start?
Polamalu is clearly the team MVP, shame they can’t win with him hurt.

Yeah, lets replace a coach who won the SB in his second year, for a coach that won one in 15 years, despite being a heavy favorite in the AFC championship multiple times.

Wow SmackMyVickUp just sounds dumber and dumber with every post. I wonder if she has ever even seen a football game.

bauman was on the ravens last year…losing to the steelers twice. would be funny if he got picked up by the steelers and they got swept by the ravens

On a completely unrelated rant – only on PFT do you find people who use the same obnoxious nicknames for franchises that never were clever but continue to be used as if they were (i.e., Cheatriots, Eagirls/Egirls, Squeelers). I could see if someone somehow turned Steelers into something that was actually clever AND offensive, but seriously — Squeelers? My grandfather can do better than that. How corny can this shit get.

    The Real Shuxion….
I’m from PGH, I’ve heard about that story. It’s absolutely disgusting what this guy did. Some little punk. I hope that makes him feel more like a man b/c if he goes to jail (which I hope he does) he won’t be feeling like a man at all if you’re following me. If I was the witness I would have whooped this guy or gone down swinging. The witnesses description made me sick. My opinion of humanity keeps getting worse and worse.

    @ Vox’s Mommy:
The typical Steeler fan comment is all in jest, but yeah that guy made me sick as well. The woman in the story makes me sick too.
Unfortunately you find these “winners” in every fanbase.
I am a pats fan and we have our “winners” too.
Happy thanksgiving and let vox out of the basement for some turkey :)

    Shuxion…
I know the comment about the fans was in jest, no worries. It’s a sick thing when that happens anywhere. I live about 15min. from the town this happened in. You’re right about the girl too, I mean…that’s HER dog. How do you protect someone like that? Boyfriend or not…to kick a dog to death and walk away like nothing happened spells problems.
Happy Thanksgiving to you too, nice to see a Pats and Steelers fan wishing eachother a good day LOL. Doesn’t happen very often. I might throw my Voxy down some scraps, that’s all that boy deserves.

Ramsey is worth the look. He started well at Redskins and then had injury and never got a second chance. He is very smart and has a strong arm. Just needs a chance.
