Texans tap Brian Russell

With safety Eugene Wilson out for the rest of the season, the Houston Texans have placed Wilson on injured reserve — and they’ve filled his spot with veteran safety Brian Russell.

Russell, who was cut recently by the Jags after appearing in nine games and starting one, also has played for the Seahawks, Browns, and Vikings.

The eighth-year veteran has appeared in 117 career games, with 95 career starts.

I miss him as a Viking. Had a knack for making interceptions.

Brian Russell is worthless. He had 9 INTs in 2003, and only 6 since then, including none last year or this year. He’s slow and he can’t tackle – Chris Johnson, who is 5’11″ and 195 lbs, absolutely ran him over earlier this year. He’s an utter liability, only marginally better than fielding 10 guys on defense.
