It didn’t look good when Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew was writhing in pain on the ground early in Thursday’s game against the Packers.
And even though Pettigrew, a first-round pick in the 2009 draft, eventually limped off the field, the news isn’t good.
Pettigrew, the team announced, will require season-ending surgery.
Though the specific nature of the knee injury wasn’t disclosed, it’s apparently a torn ACL.
Pettigrew started every game this year, catching 30 passes for 346 yards and two touchdowns.
