Matt Roth admits to "falling out" with Dolphins

Matt Roth knows when his relationship soured with the Dolphins, the team that released him this week.

"Sometimes when you get hurt, people don't get happy," Roth said Friday, now a member of the Browns. "We had a good relationship until the injury.''

Roth is referring to a groin problem that kept him out of training camp and on the physically unable to perform list to start the year.  Roth said he played in 2007-2008 with a torn groin, starting 23 times.  He underwent surgery just before training camp this year and then had a "falling out" with Miami.  (He also had surgery in March.)

Dolphins coach Tony Sparano publicly said Roth's groin injury was "not significant" in early August.  Roth didn't play much when he was ready to come off the PUP list and he was relieved to get released this week.

"I'm done with that page'' of my career, Roth said Friday.  He said he still wants to be a "great player" in the NFL.

He may not turn out great, but his track record is pretty good.  And barring a new collective bargaining agreement, the Browns essentially just got him for free through 2010.

Four tackles for him since he started playing again. That's only four more tackles than a dead guy. Gee, how will the Dolphins ever be able to replace such phenomenal production?

Roth is brutal.............and hopefully Crowder is next. Another overrated, non-productive, non-impactful tool.

It would really suck to be a Brown...hopefully Roth gets free ASAP

"We had a good relationship until the injury.''

No, Matt. You had a good relationship until you lied about your injury. You failed a physical after signing a piece of paper certifying you were not injured, you took seven weeks to get back onto the field, and you sucked.

And yet another Miami Dolphins draft pick from the recent past goes into the toilet.

Sounds like the noob Dolphins got OWNED! DO A PSYCHICAL b4 letting him sign any piece of paper/contract!!!!!! But i am pretty sure a PRO NFL TEAM would know this and u r full of it.

Too bad for him. In Cleveland, groin tears come with staph infections.

    @Osterhouse

When players report to training camp, they have to certify that they are not injured before taking their physical. This is SOP for NFL teams. Roth signed the required paperwork, meaning he claimed to be 100% healthy, then failed his physical, meaning he lied about not being healthy. The Dolphins had him by the short and curlies right then and there. But they were more interested in getting him on the field than punishing him, even though they were well within their rights to do so thanks to Roth's signature on the dotted line, so rather than cut him, he went on PUP before the season started.

    tl;dr You're an absolute moron.

It's okay if he does not miss the Dolphins. The Dolphins will not miss him either.

    Desides,

Sounds like the Dolphins played softball(Vikings cut Thomas Tapeh when they found out he had undisclosed knee surgery). FOOLS. You dont actually know what happened behind the scenes. 1. Do u even know if he wanted to be there? 2. Maybe he requested a trade behind Florio & companies backs and Tuna kept it quite? 3. If he was healthy and didnt want to be there they would have traded him, or at least played him maybe/then traded him?. 4. Based on all the 1 through 3 crap i said which is, crap, u & me simply dont know right now on why and what happened with the Dolphins and Roth. Last statement, we are all human, maybe Matt Roth hated south beach, he is a widwest guy, unless u r from here u dont understand what it is like to be uprooted from here and be moved to some major city full of every ethnicity(NOT trying to be racist i actually prefer Europe to USA in everything but hunting/fishing and the EU is the ultimate ethnic mix). But seriously its why Greenway, Allen, Favre, Hutchinson & company love it here in MN....drive west/south a ways & its country/pheasant hunting...drive north...its woods...Percy/Adrian/a few others love in here in the city i have seen Adrian in uptown and hutchinson & other linemen downtown/uptown too. Adrian also goes downtown somtimes too, I love a city where I can chill with players around my own age and they r as down to earth as Adrian, hutch, and Percy. That was more this summer tho. Now they are all about the W's and all about a championship. I love these Vikings. I hope your dolphins "get good right quick".

hmmm personally I'd rather be on a parcells team.

    Was that groin injury hernia?
You can be active and play with hernia for awhile but you do something to agitate it worse and you need surgery ASAP.
Only thing I can think of that fits the story.

Osterhouse is a complete and absolute moron. I say this because he is a Vikings fan and nothing more.

There is one other element to this "falling out" with the Dolphins. His loud mouth agent, Drew Rosenhouse. Through his weekly schtick on a local tv sports show as the "Dolphin Insider", Rosenhouse used this platform to make the case for his player (I know, what a shock!). This is as much a message to the agent from Team Tuna than it is about the player.

As I said before, you're an absolute moron.
