What most Seahawk fans forgot…..Before Tim Ruskell replaced him at GM, Holmgren put together the core of the 2005 team that went to the Super Bowl in Detroit.

Ruskell’s draft strategy has been awful. He’s neglected the gaping need the Seahawks have on the offensive line, and seems to believe Hasselbeck will be the starting QB until 2020. He also fumbled away Steve Hutchinson, which is one of the biggest reasons the Seahawks’ offense went straight into the tank after SB XL.
Giving this guy two first-round draft choices next year should terrify all Seahawks fans.

“The Walrus” would make a great GM.
When he was the GM and coach at the same time it didn’t work out. GM ONLY with no other duties, and he will do a fine job for Seattle.

Florio, you are certainly not the only site to report that Holmgren might be returning to Seattle. Get over yourself and this silly business of claiming that anything anybody reports about is probably because of something you said. Not just in this report, but in general.
This site is good, but I can guarantee you without a doubt in my mind that despite your best attempts to convince people otherwise, Pro Football Weekly has exponentially more credibility in the football industry than your site.

Sour grapes from PFT. ProFootball weekly has been around for what 40 years and has a pretty good reputation and having them mention PFT would have been good for circulation…

I can’t think of any good reason for bringing the guy who built the mess back into the building. They still have some good pieces and Mora isn’t a bad coach. Get them a decent GM, a good 2010 draft, and do something about that OL, and they’re a decent team again. They aren’t that far off that they need to blow it all up and start from scratch.

Apparently Holmgren did not set them up for any long term success, so i would not buy into him too much. What a team needs is a leader with a vision, that is based less on trying to outsmart everyone and more about sticking to a simple plan. Too GM thinks they have to show they are in charge and the have a “new” way.

He lost his GM title years ago right. And since he lost it, team has been mediocre to bad. Then they promise Mora the head coach job before Holmgren leaves, ussering in a new coach before the old one leaves never makes for a good season. And these reasong might be exactly why we hear Holmgren to Seattle rumors. He may not hold any accountability for their mediocrity in the Seahawks eyes…
