Harvin added to injury report, probable with illness

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin has been added to the team’s injury report because of an illness. Harvin is listed as probable.

Harvin is the second high-profile Vikings offensive player to be listed on the injury report as having an illness; running back Adrian Peterson is questionable because of both an illness and an ankle injury.

Two Vikings players, defensive linemen Fred Evans and Jayme Mitchell, were sick last week. But the Minneapolis Star Tribune points out that it’s not clear whether Harvin caught something that’s going around the Vikings’ locker room or whether Harvin was listed on the injury report because of migraine headaches, which have affected him for most of his life.

Harvin has played well when dealing with migraines: In the Vikings’ Week Three victory over the 49ers, he shook off migraines well enough to catch four passes and return a kickoff for a touchdown.

The Vikings host the Bears Sunday at 4 p.m. Eastern.

    Dear Michael David Smith,
Thank you for writing a Vikings related article about an illness without any back handed attempts at being funny like your assclown colleague Mike Florio tends to do. Keep up the good work!

  2. footballrulz says: Nov 28, 2009 4:34 PM

You know Flo, this is really becoming a non issue. Unless H1N1 is going around I’d about bet my house Harvin will be on the field. IF AP’s ankle is really bothering him, sit him down. Not much need to risk it when Chester’s the Backup.
Of course, even without Harvin or AP I’d say MN’s next “If I ran for governor I would win” superhero could probably pull it off against Da Bears.

Ooops, Sorry, should said you know MDS
    gotta start checkin that.

    Harvin also has ebola.

  5. Bun McSticky says: Nov 28, 2009 4:57 PM

Wait…..no jokes about Harvin having ‘Hemp Illness’? No disparaging remarks about any ‘Mary Jane Migraines’? Oh yeah, he’s been a model player and teammate since his arrival in Minnesota and well on his way to ROY.
    Eat it, haters.

Setting up excuses for the loss that is coming.
Having the Bears embarass them at home is just what they need to get fired up again.
Look for Favre to fake an injury in the second quarter when the ViQueens go down by 21. Or maybe sooner.

Seriously, one of the Viking fans should teach Percy how to use a bong. Advise him that drinking the water is detrimental to his health.
I would think that Chilly would have done that in the first week of training camp but he was too busy running to the airport playing chauffuer.

  9. purple hay-seuss says: Nov 28, 2009 6:02 PM

Jimmy, you just can’t leave the bong water line alone, can you.
I was thinking as I read the posts, “I think I better take a backhanded slap at Jimmy for not chiming in with that lame bong water line.
    Here you are. Shock.

9-1 …… are some of you Viking haters still waiting for the other shoe to drop? Poor bastards, you’ve been sooooo patient with your hatred. Hang in there, I’m sure they’ll lose another game somewhere.

Harvin has showed up and played all year. The Bears better hope Harvin is out. I know the GB loyal wished he hadn’t played when Minnesota beat them twice.

OOPS. . .I almost forgot to mention that you losers have “one” win against a team with a winning record . . .and so parralles your NFL offensive and defensive rankings. . .against nobodies. . .ToBadSoSad that PUKERS WON’T BE IN THE PLAYOFFS. . . What a couple of Jabronis. Harvin has demonstrated his toughness throughout the season. He’s been nothing but a class act since he joined the team. No off-field problems or locker-room issues. As anyone who has experienced one can attest, migraines are no joke.
Harvin isn’t afraid of contact anywhere on the field. He’s a tough little dude. Teams that passed on him in the draft are kicking themselves every Sunday.
Favre crashing and burning? Haven’t seen a sign of it.
As far as the Vikings losing to the Bears? Dream on.

  16. Pantherfan10 says: Nov 28, 2009 6:42 PM

Whats the over/under that Cutler throws less Int’s than Delhomme? Than the Bears lose regardless of the Viking injuries?

Three gay men died, and were going to be cremated. Their lovers,PFT Packer fans, happened to be at the funeral home at the same time, and were discussing what they planned to do with the ashes.
Fire Ted said, “My Ryan loved to fly, so I’m going up in a plane and scatter his ashes in the sky.”
Bob Nelson said, “My Ross was a good fisherman, so I’m going to scatter his ashes in our favorite lake.”
JimmySmith said, “My Jack was such a good lover, I think I’m going to dump his ashes in a pot of chili, so he can tear my ass up just one more time.”

Thank you MDS for an article about Harvin that made no allusion to marijuana. Thank you to the idiots like JiminyCricket and SmackMyAss for being true to form. I was sure that Bob and VixVeritas would have chimed in by now; it’s Saturday night and they don’t have anything to do in their parents’ basements.

All the loser bear fans and fudgepackers need to speak up when trash talking….it is hard to hear you from the top of the division. Look for it to be that way for the next decade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The great thing about the bears giving away all of their picks for Cuntler and having no talent currently on their roster is that…with no CBA, there will be hardly any free agents for them to save their sorry a$$ team. No wonder most players would pick Detroit over the Green Bay Sackers and CareBears.
They are both the new faces of perennial LOSERS! No wonder fans of both teams want the Vikes to move to LA so bad. They know they have no hope of winning the division in the foreseeable future with the Vikes there!!!

Say OmegaXxXNFL, have you seen the studies that indicate that people that struggle to express themselves without the extreme use of profanity most often gained that trait from their mothers rather than from their fathers or their peers.
I assume your old lady was either a sailor or spent a lot of time with them.

what if he has the flu? I just got over the flu, and I can tell you I didn’t work at all this past week, and I am just a retail manager. I couldn’t take hits and crap like that in practice, would you want to with somthing like that. Jeez, you guys on here about him being a wuss need to get out there and take some hits, then you can talk. Most of you have NEVER played the game, so you have no clue what it’s like. As far as any kind of breakdown, I don’t see it happening. I am sick of hearing about how we are gonna choke at the end of the season. Guess what idiots, if you don’t win the superbowl, your teams choke every freakin year as well. Why bring up anything that happened in football in the mid eighties and mid ninties? The same teams aren’t playing now, so you can’t hold that over anyones heads anymore…….
Now be good boys and girls and go play traffic like your parents wanted you to do.

Every month with regular periodicity Harvin, who is in the enhanced testing phase of the NFL’s substance abuser/loser program.
Do the NFL testers show up once a month?
Is the illness an allergic reaction to being tested or the NFL testers?
Why all the secrecy around the NFL’s substance abuser program?
How many rescheduled tests does it take to count as a violation of of the cooperation clause?
Are the violations not brought up because the Williams guys substance abuse case has not been settled finally by the courts?
How many violations can he be charged with at one time once the Williams substance abuse court case is settled?
I think a number of teams will express outrage (the Saints for sure) at the way this continuing situation has been handled so unfairly.

  33. bustabloodvessel says: Nov 29, 2009 8:54 AM

bob nelson is a tool. do you know those tests are random. nobody knows wen they happen. the players dont find out til they get to work. not only that, but your first comment doesnt even make sense. i dont think periodicity is a real word, and if it is, you cannot preface the word with regular. two different meanings dork. i would call it an oxymoron, but i would have to define it anyway.

Somebody help me out, I missed the part of the article that indicates he was ducking a drug test, or that it’s even possible to avoid it with illness.
Guess, after scoring what now, 7 touchdowns the “bust of the 1st round” label is gone.
