In other news, Suggs showed up in a wheelchair to announce he really, really, really did his best to be playing Sunday. Then was seen later on walking just fine without it.

Suggs is a great linebacker, and very important to that team, but—-no one, not even the QB, seems to have a more profound effect on whether they win or lose than Polamalu. It is a very different defense without him in there policing the backfield and supporting everything that goes wide of the tackles from sweeps to screens. They are a top 3 defense with him and the stats would say that they are barely in the top third of the league without him.

Hard to believe BigBen won’t play considering it is a division rival and as you say pretty much an elimination game.
Steelers haven’t won this year with Polamalu out. If BigBen knows this he just might sit after all and avoid making his “head injury” worse.
