Eagles coach Andy Reid didn’t mention tight end Brent Celek’s thumb injury in the press conference after Philadelphia’s win, but Celek was playing through pain.
The Associated Press reports that Celek told teammate Jeremy Maclin that he tore “a few ligaments in my hand.’'
The Eagles originally said x-rays were negative on Celek’s sprained thumb. The Eagles starter caught four passes for 33 yards against Washington, but had at least three drops.
Celek finished Sunday’s game, so his injury doesn’t seem nearly as serious as DeSean Jackson’s concussion.
