With the Texans leading the Colts by 14 and the Colts driving for a score, rookie linebacker Brian Cushing has stepped up again.
Hit while he was throwing the ball, quarterback Peyton Manning served up a wounded turkey (hey, it's appropriate to the season) that rookie linebacker Brian Cushing gobbled up.
He returned the ball deep into Indy territory, and it then was backed up by 15 yards thanks to a Hines Ward hit by Antonio Smith on Colts tight end Dallas Clark.
The drive appeared to end with Matt Schaub throwing a touchdown pass to Andre Johnson. The ruling on the field was that the pass was incomplete, because Johnson lost possession when he landed on the ground.
Texans coach Gary Kubiak challenged the play, but based on the manner in which the rule regarding possession upon landing on the ground, the play call was upheld.

Defensive rookie of the year? To my eyes, he's the second best rookie linebacker out of USC of the year...
Couple more picks and ROY will be the Byrd Man
Byrd Man!
Seriously? Are you forgetting about Jairus Byrd completely?
Two words: Clay Matthews
Cushing > Byrd
Byrd > Cushing
Anyone claiming this guy's gonna usurp my team's boy Matthews for the DROY is nuts. He only needs one more ROTW election to match Mark Sanchez for three on the season, tied for most weekly honors in the competition this season.
Hey guys,
What about me???
Truly,
#98, Rookie sack leader, Brian Orakpo
I think Clay Matthews deserves it more. The dude is a beast. 5 sacks and counting.
