Fluke play gives Jets early lead

With Jets coach Rex Ryan breaking out the stoplight for first-year quarterback Mark Sanchez, third-year cornerback Darrelle Revis has seen only one color.

Green.

On the twelfth play of a game-opening drive that saw the Panthers drive past the Jets’ 40, a Jake Delhomme pass bounced off the heel of receiver Steve Smith and into the hands of Revis, who took the thing 67 yards to paydirt.

The Jets just had a chance to take a 10-0 lead, but kicker Jay Feely missed a 48-yard field goal try.

New York leads, 7-0.
