Jairus Byrd, Marcus Stroud active for Bills

The Bills defense will have two key players in the lineup against the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon with the news that safety Jairus Byrd and defensive tackle Marcus Stroud are on the active roster.

Byrd, who has eight interceptions this season, has been battling a groin injury for the last few weeks. It hasn't cost him any time, but he did have his first game without an interception since Week 4 against the Jaguars last weekend.

Stroud missed last week's game with a knee injury and missed practice time this week, but he'll be in the starting lineup as the Bills try to slow down the Wildcat. He won't have to face off against Dolphins center Jake Grove. As previously noted, Grove will sit out with an ankle injury and Joe Berger will take his place in the starting lineup.

The Dolphins will also be without defensive lineman Lionel Dotson, who they hoped would help fill the void left by the injury to Jason Ferguson. He's out with an ankle injury. The good news for the Dolphins is that the Bills offensive line will do their weekly Chinese fire drill to find five healthy starters. With left tackle Demetrius Bell out, they'll move Jonathan Scott to his spot and slide Kirk Chambers from right guard to right tackle. Veteran Kendall Simmons, signed this week, will start at right guard.

Finally, the Bills will be without cornerback Terrence McGee for the third straight week while the Dolphins will welcome tight end Anthony Fasano back to the lineup after a two-week absence. The rest of the inactives are at NFL.com.
