Jake Grove out for Dolphins

The Dolphins will be without center Jake Grove as they try to move above .500 against the Bills on Sunday afternoon.

Grove injured his ankle against the Panthers in the second half of last week’s victory. Grove missed practice all week and was listed as doubtful on the final Dolphins injury report. Grove has played all 16 games in a season only once in his six NFL seasons. He’ll be replaced by Joe Berger, a versatile backup who will be making his first NFL start.

With Ronnie Brown already out, the loss of Grove would seem to have a negative impact on Miami’s ability to run the ball. They didn’t miss a beat without either of them in the second half last week, however, and with Bills defensive tackle Marcus Stroud ailing there might not be much of a loss this week either.

The Dolphins, at 5-5, need to win in Buffalo to keep their hopes of a return trip to the playoffs alive.

  1. Jake is undersized but a true competitor.
Good luck to him, but it seems like his career is coming to an end.

  2. After an 0-3 start. Losses to Indy, ATL, and San Diego, the season looked dim. Enter Chad Henne. Who is 5-2 as a starter. Without an great recievers. Every great QB in this league has a WR that can make plays. Palmer, Brady, Manning, Brees, Rivers.. They all have GREATTT WR compared to the Dolphins.
I know this article was about Jake Grove. And his loss will be felt. But this team just does not give up. I expect a win today, and hopefully the 10 days off helped. If we can get out of Buffalo with no injuries, hopefully we can expect a healthy Oline for the matchup against the Pats. Who will loose to the Saints in NO on monday night. The pats are 1-3 on the road and the Saints will light up their D. 38-30
