“Concussion” has become the buzzword of the 2009 season, with the highest degree of sensitivity we’ve ever seen to the problem of brain injuries.
The issue reached new heights on Sunday, with Rams tackle Jason Smith being taken to the hospital due to concussion symptoms experienced during a game.
It was a game in which he wasn’t even playing.
Per the Associated Press, Smith became ill on the sideline in the latter stages of Sunday’s loss to the Seahawks. Smith, the second overall pick in the 2009 draft, did not dress for the game due to a concussion.
