The biggest news about running backs in St. Louis is that Steven Jackson will play for the Rams, but there was a question in the backfield for Seattle as well.
On Friday, Julius Jones said it would be up to the trainers whether or not he returned to the lineup after suffering a bruised lung against the Cardinals in Week 10. The medical staff must not have liked what it saw, because Jones is inactive for Sunday’s game. Justin Forsett, who followed up a strong game against Arizona with a nine-yard clunker in Minnesota last week, will start.
The Rams are obviously happy to have Jackson in the lineup, but they’ll be without one of the five guys tasked with opening up holes for him at the line of scrimmage. Rookie Jason Smith is out thanks to a concussion he picked up last week. Adam Goldberg will move to right tackle with Mark Setterstrom taking Goldberg’s place at right guard. It will be Setterstrom’s first start since the third week of the 2007 season.
